I went for damage nodes while leveling and then dipped into the mana regen/spell block nodes (since they work together) to help me with mana sustain while leveling, also Clarity could probably solve as well.

I've also noticed that the vaal cold snap gem can safely be leveled up to 7 and still work with CWDT level 1, since the PoB shows Vaal Cold Snap chillin (ha! no pun intended) at level 1 still.

Also the Breach re-work made obtaining a Skin of the Lords/Loyal a lot more expensive it seems?

Hey, no Discipline needed anymore indeed, we get more then enough ES from gear to have a good pool for the Aegis defence :)

Yea, the problem is Blessings are A LOT rarer then before, so it's harder to get a good Skin now :(

For Cold Snap, we keep it at lvl 1 just to have the lower spell cost when it's triggered by CWDT.
We only use Cold Snap (and Vaal Cold Snap) for chill and the generation of Frenzy charges anyway, which is the same at lvl 1 as it would be at lvl 20 :)

Ohhhh yeah, if you don't have the skin lord/loyal chest and only a level 3 empower, it appears Immolate support comes out ahead over Empower, so just rock Immolate until you can either get a +1 corrupted Empower or a Skin of the Loyal/Lord.

Checked all this out in PoB before posting, so for those leveling/building up to get these more expensive items you can rock out with Immolate.

I also checked to see if Fire Penetration or Controlled Destruction was better, but it seems Immolate kept winning these battles :P

This league's mechanic is boring to me, so I decided to level this build for something to do. I noticed the POB has a level 20 arcane surge in the main link. I think in the past we determined that it's not realistic to keep the buff up since it's 527 mana to trigger, right?

I did it Chubby ^^
Permanent uptime. I dropped the reduced mana cost nodes and dropped the mana cost for channeling skills on the ring. My mana cost is now 10 and that's enough to keep the buff up.

Weirdly enough, the PoB only shows 9 mana cost, but ingame it says 10.

Don't mind the addition of the Rational Doctrine jewel in the tree.
That was a VERY late addition by me just a couple of days ago.

Still, 11.3 casts a second at 10 mana each is 113. It would take you 527 / 113 = 4.6 seconds to activate it starting from scratch, which I suppose you can maintain since the buff lasts 6 seconds.

If you had the move then a lot of that buff time is wasted, although I guess if the gem kept track of new mana being used after the buff is triggered then the second trigger should be a lot faster.

Still sounds like it may have a lot of downtime.

If you replace it with concentrated effect (and put a level 1 arcane surge on flame dash to force POB to recognize it) then you would get more DPS. With elementalist's 60% AOE it doesn't feel bad, and with bosses you are in their face anyways.

Edit: How come your POB's eHP is a lot less than the first page's POB...
