With the buff to dmg, do you guys think the Elementalist version might be the better one again, just for the massive AoE convenience?
Or would you still pick crit version?

I think it allows for all 3 versions to be REALLY strong.

Best damage will be Inquisitor crit
Best AOE will be Elementalist EO
Best defense will be Guardian crit.

I don't think any of the 3 stand out above the others but the guardian crit version with this buff looks like it might hit a sweet spot.

The league mechanic may help us decide which version may be best.

stoudtlr, if you stick the 53.7% number into your guardian POB, what are you getting for damage?

Used lolshie's lower 47% number and now break 10mil DPS with the basic guardian crit version.

Here's a different Guardian version I was working on but haven't shared here yet that takes more regen nodes and Zealot's Oath to be able to sustain RF like the inquisitor does. This one is over 13mil DPS with the 47%.

https://pastebin.com/VNm8t2FR

Edit: that last version is definitely not a starter version. I was able to make it work, but it requires everything. Watcher's eye with vitality mod, all the regen nodes, medium clusters with regen, etc. Miss any of the pieces and RF will do more harm than good on Guardian. Best to stick with first version and only use VRF

thanks for those POB's! They look great!

I am going to take a fresh look at the Inquisitor version tonight to see if I can make any tweaks.

Are you considering league starting this? I have not yet decided on a league starter...

I was looking at league starting totems actually. Manifesto has nerfs to totems and buffs to incinerate??? I guess I will be league starting as this!

Before this manifesto I would still have stayed with elementalist, for the easier gear setup and AOE, immune to reflected damage. With 6M you can already do almost all content, with 10M I think it's just overkill damage.

this was true at one time but with the new aspirational content, significant amount of damage is needed to clear items like wave 25+ in Simulacrum.

We had a couple of guys nicely do a ton of testing for us recently to help us determine what damage numbers are needed for the harder game content.

I think the ~17m on Inquisitor crit should be a nice spot for single target bursting (fat ass Kosis) and the ~12m when mapping should make for a very comfortable experience.

Puppy goes incinerate totems starter! [taps head meme]

(just kidding, please dont, I tried it several times before and it just feels bad)
If the cast speed buffs they mentioned are carried over to cast speed nodes on the tree we could be looking at even more damage.

These notes and Bex confirming no defense nerfs are planned really has me looking forward to this league.

Hahaha. Yeah, most spell totems I tried were kinda blah, but now with 1 less totem I definitely won't touch them.

I have a concern about the guardian version. This POB does not use glacing blow, so only 2 out of 5 seconds do you cap attack block. The other 60% of the time you are at 44%. This seems like a "death star thermal exhaust post" point of weakness XD

Edit: 54% if you attacked recently, which I think Reckoning or Shield charge counts.

Maybe I will join you!!

I am not the fastest leveler anyway, so I don't need our uniques to be available immediately.

Uncheck Bastion of Hope in the POB and you'll see the effective ehp is still higher than Inquisitor. The reason is not using Glancing Blows.

2000 point hit with 50k armour as example:
Guardian with 50% block - receive 4 out of 8 hits for a total of 8000 damage received

1,000es received for each of 4 blocks totals 4,000es received

Net total would be 4000 damage received.

--------------

Inquisitor with 75% block - recieve 2 out of 8 hits for a total of 4000 damage plus 65% of the other 6 hits for 7,800 damage bring the grand total to 11,800 damage.

1,000es received for each of 6 blocks totals 6,000es received.

Net total is 5,800 damage received.

--------------

Guardian with 75% block while Bastion of Hope is active - recieve 2 out of 8 for 4,000 damage.

1,000es gained from each block for 6,000es.

Net total is +2,000es.

-------------

So while Bastion of Hope isn't active you recieve less total damage than Inquisitor and while Bastion of Hope is active you can actually receive more es than you lose.

Glancing Blows was amazing when you only took 50% of the damage from blocked hits, but after the nerf to 65% it isn't worth it if you can break 50% block chance without it.

Sorry for not having good formatting on this. On mobile currently.

Edit: great star wars quote by the way! Lol
