[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!

They buffed spell base damage, but nerfed added damage support gems. This build doesn't use added damage support, so it's a win for us.

Fingers crossed on defenses staying intact. Maybe even a way to free up some mana with the new Blessing gem.

Goddamit I was right, classic GGG nukes from orbit. I really wanted to league start scorching ray totems. I made a POB that had Aegis Aurora so it was tanky as well, on top of totem play where I can run around, got to around 12M damage...

Spell Totem Support: Supported Skills now deal 49% less Damage at gem level 1 (previously 28%), and 40% less at gem level 20 (previously 24%).

The Soul Mantle Unique Body Armour no longer has +1 to maximum number of Summoned Totems.

Fun fact...the build I just respected to this one from? Arc Totem Hierophant with soul mantle. It wasn't quite as impacted by all the projectile jewel nerfs, but I feel this will make a +1 totem shield mandatory for any of these builds, and those are NOT cheap.

Well, at least it's in Standard so I have a 6L legacy mantle that might be worth something someday...
Before this manifesto I would still have stayed with elementalist, for the easier gear setup and AOE, immune to reflected damage. With 6M you can already do almost all content, with 10M I think it's just overkill damage.

GGG does this whole nerfing of damages and now revert it again. Maybe Chris is bipolar... :P

When the new POB comes out I'll check if Arc totem is better. Currently scorching ray scaled damage much easier than arc.

Without the +1 Skin of Lords might be better than Soul Mantle. Self-Flagellation is still a good DPS boost and Soul Mantle makes self cursing easy, but I'll have to see. If I don't have to wear soul mantle than I dont need veil helm, etc.

With the buff to dmg, do you guys think the Elementalist version might be the better one again, just for the massive AoE convenience?
Or would you still pick crit version?

I think it allows for all 3 versions to be REALLY strong.

Best damage will be Inquisitor crit
Best AOE will be Elementalist EO
Best defense will be Guardian crit.

I don't think any of the 3 stand out above the others but the guardian crit version with this buff looks like it might hit a sweet spot.

The league mechanic may help us decide which version may be best.

stoudtlr, if you stick the 47% number into your guardian POB, what are you getting for damage?

yes!!! I was afraid of a haircut in the patch notes but now it looks like we don't even need to sweat that.

:)
wow, if the 47% number is correct, I am seeing numbers just shy of 17m dps on the Inquisitor crit version.

:)

Just for the clarity of where i got 53.7.
Since flat dmg scaling of spell gems flatten after gem lvl 30, i created new gem group in pob with only incinerate. Bumped it to gem lvl 24 (closest values of new gem vs old gem at lvl 20) and just calculated from there.
BUT. Looks like actually it's not 53.7, but more like 47-48%, since im a pepega and forgot to bring numbers closer to actuall new gem dmg.
Still an impressive buff.

thanks for doing this!!
With Determination not being touched, I am going to stick with my idea of dumping Defiance Banner.

It not only makes the build cheaper since mana is much easier to manage, it also allows for one of my favorite 4 links to be enabled in the build:

Molten Shell - Vaal Haste - Vaal RF - Increased Duration
