[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!

Andy, update on the guardian version. I did play it long enough to hit level 90 to get an idea of how it might perform as my league starter next month. To be honest, I'm not that impressed. It is tanky, but not as tanky as the POB numbers make it seem. The biggest issue IMO is ES regen. Since Guardian doesn't have ES regen like Inquisitor does you're relying on only gaining ES thru Aegis Aura on block and when Bastion of Hope isn't active block chance is only 50%. That led to quite a few times of seeing ES completely gone due to multiple hits in a row not being blocked and a couple of deaths as well due to several large hits not being blocked that depleted both ES and life.

A solution would be to drop Bastion of Hope and go back to Glancing Blows on the tree to be at permanent 75/75 block. However, at that point the defenses are close enough to Inquisitor that the little extra you get is not worth the almost 50% reduced DPS as compared to Crit Inquisitor IMO.

I would stick with Inquisitor for this build.

This is excellent feedback. Thank you for sharing.

I had just today been wondering about the interaction of Bastion of Hope and no Glancing Blows. I had tried to do the math to see what the up time of Bastion of Hope would be like but it is much better to see some real in game experience.

Sounds like Inquisitor/Crit or older Elementalist/Non Crit will be the two main choices for 3.17.

Assuming no major nerfs (I sweat out "recovery on block" getting nerfed every league), I will probably try in the Inquisitor version since I have done the Elementalist multiple times so far.

Thanks again for testing and sharing the info.
I had similar experiences with the new builds, I prefer the inquisitor too. I was uncomfortable with corrupted soul's 50% es bypass, swapped purity of elements to lvl21 purity of fire for 85% fire resist and cs for hearty. real dps is huge, even without vaal haste, feels much stronger than pob calculations.

would you be willing to share your latest POB so that I can compare with what we have crafted earlier in the thread? I would like to understand how you sustain ES when you have RF and no Corrupted Soul. When I remove Corrupted Soul from my tree, I lose a ton of ES regen and can't support RF with out leaking.

for some reason I cant enter the values for brittle and scorched, but I have them ingame. this is just a test version for rf, atm it works while stationary, I have to rest for recharge sometimes while walking.

I know, only shock immunity, but this is just a test

edit: version with purity of elements, 83% fire res, little bit slower recharge, but not that bad

It seems like inquisitor will be harder to gear to the point where it surpasses elementalist though. You need corrupted soul timeless jewel (to run righteous fire with inquisitor ES regen) and price of leadership (crit), and all the stats just right. For next league I was thinking of doing subtractum bane occultist for league start, then respec over once all the gear in place.

I agree. But for me trying something different will be added fun even if it struggles to get going.

I usually do Incinerate for build 2 of the league as well but I am unsure what to league start with. I hate to get to tied to any build and they get the rugged pulled out when the patch notes come.

Do you have a link to a build guide for Bane Occultist?

Thanks for this.

I also can't figure out where the scorch and brittle are in the config window. In our other POB we have in the thread, they show up as fields that can be configured but not in yours. There must be one other setting needed that I am missing.

Here is his final video. It's good to view the earlier videos as well, as he explains other aspects of the build: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTqVCbWJhJ8

I did sirgog's bane occultist for endless delve and it was fine, the profane bloom pops were very good, but that version was targetted for endless delve. Subtractum's seems better for a real league.

Our build takes quite a few uniques to come online (weapon and shield at least), whereas a bane occultist is more SSF friendly, and a cane of unraveling is usually cheap for the power boost it gives.

Thanks!!
I've actually been thinking of league starting as rf inquisitor. Similar to link Andy shared. After farming currency for the unique items then switch to crit incinerate. Might even do two different builds. Did a lightning strike assassin a few leagues ago before LS raider became popular and it was fast and fun. Might do it again so I have a fast and fun mapper and the slower tanky incinerate for conquerors.
