[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!
" I am confused. If you don't feel the frenzy charges are useful in either mapping or in bossing, why did you use Disciple of the Slaughter? I want to make sure I understand this. ============= For Infernal Cry, when I talk about up time, I am not talking about keeping the ash up, I am talking about the ability to move from pack to pack and cast it. I feel like I can do that twice and then I have a long wait for the cool down before I can cast again. I am not sure 5.5 seconds is short enough to make a difference but maybe it is. Unfortunately it is not cheap to experiment with to see how it works. In things like heavy rituals or dense scourge maps, having many uses of IC would be OP. What Second Wind quality would you recommend if I wanted as many casts as possible? I can't tell whether anomalous or regular would be better for cool down. |

" It's not that they aren't useful, just that I would prefer 1 frenzy up at all times against bosses instead of relying on the 25% chance on block. Remember disciple of slaughter gives 8% chance for frenzy on kill, so you have 3 charges up while mapping already, especially in this league. I plan on making room for a +1 min frenzy on ring when I free up some resistances so I have 2 at all times. |

I was at a crossroads earlier this morning.
If you guys recall the skin of lords I got had Vaal Pact, so my leech is extra effective. I went arrogance/herald of ash to trigger low life. Just earlier I decided to change my discipline to petrified blood, and bought a anomalous arrogance so that my unreserved life is 1660 out of 3272, or 50.7%. With petrified blood my leech can not go above 50%, so my leech does not drop off when I hit 50% life. If I understand this right, it means I have 40% life leech (20% * 2 from vaal pact) going on my all the time, a massive recovery. The cross road was if I should do this or not, because from past leagues not having petrified blood is safer/more eHP. I think having vaal pact tripped me over. I also swapped to concentrated effect. According to Clay's POB (with the flasks up) incinerate has 3.69% chance to crit with controlled destruction. At 9.9 casts per second (let's call it 10), that's 31.4% chance to trigger EO a second. Without the flasks the base change is 1.98%, which translate to 18% chance. The AOE doesn't feel too bad with concentrated effect, but now we lost a easy way to trigger unnerve. The only other "easy" way I see is to get it on the gloves, not a cheap option. Edit: Going petrified blood is a fair big hit on eHP, especially big for chaos damage, but it allows me to fit in herald of ash. 12% more damage and good clear on its own. " One of the trade offs is 1) no Unnerve and 100% up time of EO or 2) Conditional unnerve and low up time of EO I have to say that 100% up time of EO feels great, especially with the massive AOE gain we made by adding Inc AOE to IC. But I don't exactly know what Unnerve feels like since I don't have the level 5 awakened gem. |

" Sorry for being a noob here, how do I see whether EO is up or not? I tried to find the visuals... but there's just too much effects and I do not know what to look for. |

Yeah it's not as easy to see, it just shows up as a small diamond on your skill hotkey. So if incinerate is bound to right click you'll see a little diamond icon on the bottom of the button

Ive seen that the skill gems set up on the forum are different to those on the pob. which one is recommended to use? and is there something i can do to make bossing a bit better

" Hello. In general, the POB is the most updated item. I don't think the build owner has cleaned up the old text in the first post in a while. Can you tell us which gems specifically you are referring to? There are some choices each player can make that will result in slight differences in builds based on the players preference. If you leave your POB or make your profile on here public so that we can see your character, we can give you some advice on how to improve your single target damage. I made my profile public. Any help would be appreciated

" hello! Thank you for making it public. You are off to a good start. Note that our damage scales specifically on the level of the Incinerate gem, which we can raise in many different ways. As such, I would make these your top two priorities 1) Buy a level 21 Incinerate (these are very cheap) 2) Buy the helmet enchant that gives Incinerate 2 extra stages of channeling (this is neither cheap nor expensive). These two items alone will significantly improve your damage and bossing. Once you get these in place, come back for more advice. Good luck to you!! |
