Add the many +gem levels we get, even the elemental versions can get level 25-27 without Empower and phys impale can get 31-32, and it should be even clearer. Of course, assuming that Animate Weapon follows the same scaling above level 20 as every other skill gem in the game. Which should be a fair assumption to make. Amazing build and detailed guide, thanks! Just finished reading everything and now trying to do some mix and match with item options you listed. Devouring Diadem with MoM, Vis Mortis, The Surrender + Rumi's. With all these defensive mechanics I feel I actually managed to make it less tanky.

" I'd be looking to do a Conqueror's Efficiency, or better just 2 Jewels corrupted with 1% reduced mana reservation, to be able to save a point near Sovereignty and grab more aura effect there instead. Any time you have more than 0% mana remaining with Devouring Diadem feels like a miss :) Maybe grab Mystic Bulwark for some spell block. Might need to skip Animate Guardian as it will be very fragile, not benefiting from any +gems in helmet as well as -life from Vis Mortis. That does open up 2 extra gem slots for some other potential utility. One annoying thing about the Diadem is against bosses and where there are no corpses to consume, you can get hit hard and then be stuck unable to cast. I'm not sure there's a great solution to that, but just something to be aware of. The block approach does seem strong though! |

This is awesome! All the flexibility in gem links in your leveling guide have made me a lot less nervous about starting my first SSF char tomorrow. Your PoB doesn't seem to have a lot in the gear section, but I imagine that is because the uniques there aren't required and everything else can be rare.

" Glad it helps! And yes, most of the gear can/should be rares (with exception of Triad Grip). It's just a lot of work to input rares into POB and someone will always complain that they're unrealistic... Uniques are easier as placeholders. Yes, on weapon swap level all AW gems. Especially in SSF, want to maximize the chance of hitting a level 21 corruption. Probably don't even worry about getting 20 quality right away, as the move speed boost is convenient but likely not essential. " Could atleast give credit to Ghazzy as it's his PoB you just slightly remade :P Also you removed the cluster jewel option and the duration nodes, so might feel both clunky to keep the AW up and we got no option in case of a good node jewel. |
