Hi all, hope someone can help me check out my char to see if I can make any further improvements? I'm trying to go for 2 medium cluster jewels but I cant seem to set my tree up right to have enough skill points. Honestly i'm just at a lost first time playing poison build.

I'm currently running T15-16 maps but i'm dying way more and my damage seems lackluster.
Your DPS looks good enough for any maps when I load up your tree in POB.

Clusters are pretty easy once you figure it out. They mostly add DPS, with very little in the way of life. So take your existing tree, and pull off 20 points of DPS boosting nodes, then you have enough to socket a L/2m/2s cluster setup. Doing it a second time is a bit more challenging!

So on your tree, you would unspec Heartseeker, Fatal Toxins, Method to the Madness, Exceptional Performance, Growth and Decay, Resourcefulness, Atrophy... You may have to dip into the Scion life wheel to complete your second cluster jewel setup.

Getting killed on high level maps might be a playstyle challenge - poison doesn't play the same as many other types of builds. If you stop moving, you'll die. Keep a bunch of blades up by casting BV every few seconds, and run through everything. Most critters will die by the time you are a screen past them. Keep a close ear on your loot filter for juicy drops you want to run back and collect. Don't run directly at projectile mobs, run up beside them so they fire behind you, then circle or whirling blades through the pack after they've fired. Circle strafe bosses to get a big stack of poisons on them, then run off and watch them die from the degen.

Hey Grim thanks for taking the time out to check and advise, I will surely take a look at the skills you mentioned to respec but I dont think I will need to respec 20 skill points because I am going for 1 L/2M/2S cluster build and I only left 1M + 2S cluster jewels to socket in.

Nonetheless can you advise which skills are the least useful in your list that I should respec first? Also, because I swapped out Poison Support gem for Awakened Void Manipulation, my chance to poison is no longer 100%. Is there something I can do or should I just leave it as it is?
The thing with Void Sphere is: it consumes the corpses of enemies killed in it. I was one of the first ones to run with it, together with CWDT, but i noticed that also means: if you have Asenath's gloves, the first killed corpse who makes Asenath work is consumed too. So no Temp Chains and no explosions around mob packs who die in Void Sphere.

@Totems
You don't use them for mapping. They are for bossing only, and there they are worth it, unless you got Uber-gear and a buffed Withering Step. Then you don't need totems at all.

I played Golems last league, started with the stone golem / primordial chain variant, and switched over to Carrions with supporting animated guardian, spectres, and zombies. The DPS on a kitted Carrion setup is sick. AL8 Sirus phases before he can attack. It's the other meta this league, so decent gear prices are way up there - helmets are 80+ex, staff, wands, or sceptres are 100+. Like this build though, you can do all content with a pair of cold iron points.

Edit: Forgot to post a link to the build I used last league. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2826004/page/1

Thx for the link, i think i'll try this out. I noticed, that Golem stuff is pretty expensive. Sold a few un-crafted jewels (8 passives, ilevel 83) for up to 200c... that's just insane and reminds me of the Aura-stacking Herald-build...

I've swapped out my void sphere for a low level desecrate on my off hand set. I only use that on tough bosses that don't spawn minions for me to kill, that way the Feast of Flesh always has corpses to proc if I've been hurt.

Seems to work ok. It's not the end all by any means, but I haven't found anything I like better yet. (Haven't really looked much either, tho...)
Current league IGN: Teldra_Anc_LAD
Feel free to message me in game if I'm on.
I use Desecrate for Sirus too. Helps if you have to run through two of his void spheres and there's only a narrow path.
Hey friends, there are quite a few poison BV guides floating around and I'm having trouble deciding which one to really follow. I started with one, and kinda switched to another, and now I see this one with the shield and I'm leaning into that, because my first character this league is an ED/C trickster with wand/shield, and I've enjoyed how tanky it is.

I know this will probably never be quite as tanky, but I do like the shield playstyle. Would anyone recommend one guide over another? Any advice for an aspiring blade vortexer that's a bit lost?

I'm not sure which chest I should invest in. One says carcass jack, one says cospris, one says a rare chest with explody mod. Then there's also the weapon, cold point vs. bino's vs. sysnthesis explody weapons. etc etc.

At least most guides agree with impresence and asenath's, but asenath's is like 17ex right now, which is a bit out of my budget.

EDIT: Also is it normal to be pausing to press BV every 4 seconds or so? Because it feels.. not so great. I guess I expected less stop and go, and more go. Idk why, I mean I'm used to the playstyle from ED/C, but for some reason, it just doesn't feel as natural with this build. I think it may have to do with the constant worry of "are my stacks dropping?? shit"

There is no "best" poison BV build out there. There are many different version. You will never be real TANKY with an evasion based build. There are options for a bit more survivability (Mistwall, or even self-poison version with Apep's slumber + Mind over Matter), and you can take more life nodes instead of a second Cluster-setup. There are many options, and for someone who's new to this build, it's easy to get lost. The shield-version ALWAYS lacks some damage. But that's normal, going for more survivability means sacrificing damage.

@Chests
- Carcass Jack: only good for bigger AoE, for a bit better map clear. Also scales explosions, if you have Asenath
- Cospris: gives high evasion, and allows you to apply an additional curse (e.g. Asenaths). Imo, not a good chest, ESPECIALLY since Whispers of Doom has been moved this league and is easy to skill
- Rare chest: It's the go to for endgame. If you have Asenath, a chest with high life + resists will do.

@Weapons
1xCIP + 1xBinos as long as you don't hae Asenaths. CIP gives a big dmg boost, Binos gives Poison proliferation.

@Stop and Go
Well... pressing BV every 4 seconds is pretty much the only thing you have to do except for playing the flask piano. Even a good Righteous Fire build presses more buttons nowadays than our build
Hi Guys,
I played a Poison BV as a starter from some generic build guide ive found , now reading this guide and thread it seems like i am missing some easy optimizations that can get me further, can anyone be kind enough to look at my POB and tell me the obvious things I am missing ? (I have the extra dagger and bino`s at offhand in case i want to switch , be it boss/mapping/hiest).
Regarding flasks , it seems like mine doesnt make sense.... does witchfirew not a big boost for us ? i guess i liked my cinder due to the crit enchant ... but maybe the atziri one is better ?

Some suggestions would be great!

I am using community fork, but your PoB doesnt work still.

Do you have a recommended PoB i can follow? YOurs seems pretty niche based on your char

Thought so. Pastebin has some problems atm, i noticed it with a few other pastebins i wanted to import that don't work either.

My skill tree is not THAT niche. Yeah, it is a bit personalized for my use, but there's nothing really fancy in there except the Lethal Pride jewel. I could even go for MORE DPS, if i'd take the upper cluster-setup near CI as my second cluster-setup, then i'd have a few skill points free for mor crit... but i'd miss out on some life nodes, and i'd like to at least stay at my 4.5k HP...

Hi again, could you try to post a new PoB? or maybe the full code and not the pastebin?
@HornedTerrorist Hey boss, can you check my char and give some feedback if i ( as newb ) managed to build it correctly? i will add some life with upcoming levels.
