Awhile ago I said I was going to keep up with skeletons through to end game and min/max phase and update everyone here.
I can say unequivocally that for me they are great, and stomp all content. My gear is far beyond what most people would gather, but, it isn't all necessary.
At level 96 I have:
19.3k ES
Skeleton DPS mapping (awakened melee splash) 383k each + shock (I think its 23% based on my gem level) = 471.85k each x12 skeletons = 5.662m DPS
Skeleton DPS swapping out for Ruthless (which I don't bother to do) = 8.359m DPS
Someone feel free to check out my PoB and suggest changes, or make sure I have everything correct because I am not a PoB power user.

Still thinking about changes, might drop frost bomb for something else, not sure how often it gets proc. I don't have a watcher's eye so if I got one I'd need to add clarity as well, might look into that later.
Might craft on my wand, can meta craft it and remove accuracy/cast speed and multi mod for minion attack speed. I didn't add my own build to PoB until yesterday and it seems even without that accuracy the skeletons have 100% hit chance.
Do you have any problem doing blight, incursion etc? I had problems with mapping, but wow definitely looks like huge DPS numbers! 5 million with melee splash is amazing.
Are you using chieftains?

No issues with blight or incursion, I cast skeletons often but that's just my play style. I run and cast. Pop vaal skeletons on big areas or bosses.
I'm using the stoneskin flayers. I thought about adding one each of the chieftains but haven't gotten that far. Most of my time spent has been on the trade site and mapping, I try not to spend too much time tweaking builds or I find I never actually play the game because I go too far down the rabbit hole.
Most metamorphs die in under 3 seconds, I've had a few fights go 10 seconds. Reflect maps are fine, I just have to re-cast skeletons a little more.

I've read about people swapping to summon skeletons for Sirus. I don't have the cyclopian coil setup atm, do you guys think skeletons are better or herald for this fight?
I had no issues on AL8 sirus with normal herald. If you dont want to worry about virulence stacks you can always slot in a storm brand to help with uptime. Maybe orb of storms since you basically hug his ass the entire fight anyway but I havent tested how that feels.
Storm brand was much worse. I wasn't able to build nearly enough stacks. I did swap back to ball lightning and got him. You mentioning that you hug his ass the entire fight did help quite a bit though, I know I wasn't doing that the time I tried and failed him.
Use intrinsic catalysts on your Astramentes to get it up another 20 points in attributes for ~20c, also change your oil anoint to utmost might, that will give you 40 more str and 8% MORE there too, which ends up being ~8% increased ES and 40 more flat mana, totaling ~250-350 more ES total.

Thank you so much for a detailed explanation, man. The reason I picked "Primal Spirit" on the amulet is based on the OP guide(, which is kinda expensive, 2 silver oils). When going to cyclopian coil route, I wonder how we could craft a ring with huge tons of resists, cuz it's really expensive to get a one, plus it may not easy to find one on the market.
I got a 150% Molten Shell Memory Vault - how does it compare to a hatred enchant?
I would use it if I were you. It's pretty good. You usually don't have a problem with stuff getting through molten shell except for some of the meta morphs and maybe stuff like vaal temple boss. Its just more survivability basically.
Mana reserve is better, but yours is still good.

Primal spirits is better than Utmost might. Double check your configuration in Path of Building, but Primal spirits is typically more ES and gives you extra flask charges. It costs more though from an oil perspective (not a ton as it doesn't require any gold).

Hi guys, got this ring, just wondering if there is any way this can be made into a tri rez ring with a reasonable cost. can you only craft 1 more stat and then have to hope to exalt the others?
