PS4 trade prices are an UTTER joke
" I'm using the filter - the problem is that all of many items are badly overpriced on the PS4 - it's not just a few, and it's not just the key unique items that this is happening too either. It's across many items, even normal rares. I'm happy with the storm brand elementalist build I'm currently using - it's a helluva lot better than the deadeye tornado ranger so far. tougher. Faster. Does more DPS. The torn build was indicated as being a cheap, entry level newbie friendly build. That may be for PC, but for the PS4, none of the builds are cheap imho. NONE. |

" Yes, I have the feeling that t he initial influx of people to the game on release have left for greener pastures, deciding that the game wasn't for them, or too difficult, or too time consuming, or trading was broken. A few stubborn and persistent players like myself are hanging around, cos we genuinely like most of the game and want it to do well. I'm back to D3 for the moment, missed season opening as I've just managed to get a job and had to work on Saturday (I'm in Australia, so Friday 5pm PST is 11am Saturday time in Brisbane) - will complete the season journey which will take a week or so and then back to POE. Why did I leave D3? Several reasons - Blizzard's massive ineptitude, their lack of utter care for the franchise, their crappy treatment of solo players and preference to pander to group players who use t heir group earned bonuses to dominate the solo LBs, their lack of bug fixes, and of course, lack of new content. POE is a far better game, but not without its issues, hence this thread. |

" The other thing about PS4 prices on uniques hat are on exalt pricing is the fact that an exalt is worth less than half of that it is on PC. I believe this to be due to less PS4 players doing high end crafting that will use 2ex for multimod or other 1ex mastercrafts, or even simply slam an ex on a rare. Much of the ps4 playerbase is learning core game mechanics and have not moved to crafting (making uniques the prefered items to equip and thus higher values on high end rare ones, and higher value of high end rares as less top tier are made), but next season more may tackle crafting and this may bring the value on an exalt up and bring the cost of the uniques down closer to PC (as an exalt is worth more and more high end rares may exist to that will be just as good) |

Well...no matter how some spin it, slice, twist it, try to justify it...the asking and even when making an offer is a complete utter pathetic joke.....even more so when comparing to the PC which I've actually compared several items.
Anyone can charge whatever they want but it comes to a point where the line of reason is passed over into insanity...2-4 CO's for a Magic Item....10 CO's for a Rare with so-so stats....35 CO's for a Unique with two sockets that there's 15-20 pages of....I can go on and on and on with the absurd.... Sad part is.....a lot read into the "Currency Guides" where the central focus is Chaos Orbs....and instead of going over to the PC side and using that as a guide for prices...they became greedy which has escalated to where at least 80% of the Trade market is a joke. Some might say, "well...it's price and demand"....not when you see 20-30 pages filled with the same item. they're not exactly flying off the shelf...and the reason is obvious; Chaos Orbs aren't exactly laying all over the place like apples off a Apple Tree. I'm not sure where some have gotten that idea everyone has some huge pile of Chaos Orbs laying around... I've actually thought about going back to the PC and still might when Legion comes around. Shame since I like it on the PS4...but greed will destroy the game for the majority while keeping it as some elitist club for the minority who all think they have that 'Special-one-of-a-kind' item sitting there gathering dust not budging one inch off their insane asking price demand.... |
|
" Actually, I'd say, at least from my experiences so far that the exalted orb is worth even mo0re chaos orbs on the PS4 than on the PC. At least, every time I've looked... I totally agree about the supply/demand argument being utter BS - when you see 20 odd pages of the same item, all of them 80x the price of the same item on PC, something isn't right. . People are just being stupidly greedy. Your last paragraph is exactly why POE on PS4 will very badly fade. It is also why a handful of people on here have jumped on the thread and hated on myself for daring to expose the massive trade issues with the PS4 version of the game. They are the very same elitists that you are talking about, hoping to milk the PS4 version of the game for utter greed. Of course they don't want to see it change, it'd affect them and their "profits". |

For the most part I disagree, I've been getting all the dank ass items I need for fairly cheap. Currency is another story though. It's hell trying to get some alchs or fusings. Everything is either rejected because I'm not offering their ridiculous request, or I get replied to by some scumbags ad bot.
Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

Console trading is a joke and there really is no excuse or argument to be used to say otherwise.
*Price riggers rig a cornered market *There's currency pay site showing up all over currency trade *There's no way to see who's listing everything *There's no way to price check *There's no way to sort items specifically *There's no guidance on how to use trade *People don't understand the value of currencies I've been on Xbox trade for the last two seasons and it doesn't take a astrophysicist or a degree in thermodynamics to get an idea of what might be going on. It seems there is a certain group of people that corner the not just a piece, but the whole market in the beginning of the league. On PC this flattens out over time, but on console with the player base being so small it doesn't seem to recover. So you end up with astronomical prices set by people with all the buying power. That equivalates to everyone else being taken advantage of. These people talking about economics like they're some professor or some shit is just funny. These console markets are not competitive and there is no economic equilibrium. This is more of an empire then supply and demand. The people defending this practice are probably the ones doing it. Either that or they like getting ripped off or taken advantage of lol. This league I saw someone with 700+ ex and others with hundreds mid league. That sure seems like an excellent example of supply and demand, and a healthy market. Man get real. The best tin hat theory I can come up with is that some people are controlling the market to try and sell the currency for real money. Which kind of makes sense. That damn pay site always shows up when I'm trying to buy ex, fusing's and chaos. GGG needs to fix console trade badly. |
|
And how do you propose they fix trade? They've provided us with an open market, nothing more could be asked for besides api integration for sites like poe.trade, which while that would make finding things easier, it really wouldn't affect prices much.
Please, enlighten us. |

" Simply alter the drop rates of higher-end currencies a bit to better reflect the player numbers on ps4. |

lol imma keep pricing stuff at the price it sells. If im getting a sale on high end items at the prices yall hate in under a day of listing it, its YOUR problem not mine. If I could buy the items at the prices yall want to buy it at I would ofc, you know why? BECAUSE THEN I COULD JUST FLIP IT IN 30 MINUTES FOR +500% PROFIT or something stupid along those lines (AKA the reason nobody sells for that cheap). So no, items aren't overpriced, you guys just aren't happy with the price. If nobody was buying this stuff it would be different, but they are, so realistically you guys are just here to cry about how you cant afford expensive things.
