why do you recommend combustion on the 6L? you are losing one of the most op nodes from the inq, the critical ignore-resistances, i think its a lot more worth change combustion for other gem than lose that node tbh
Alas, you are incorrect. SInce we can lower fire resistance with passives, Combustion, Wave of Conviction, and eventually Wise Oak, we can reduce monsters resistance well below 0% given by that ascendancy node. It was super powerful before power creep gave us all this other lowering of resistance, though, so your head is in the right place.

Nice build, I made a scion pretty similar to this and I was wondering if you could give some input since it's the first time I make a build? I posted it in the spoiler below.
I'm pretty new to creating my own builds, so I wanted to ask someone with a similar build. Hope you have a great start on the league :)
Looks about right :) Though remember that scion's dont get a 'proper' ascendancy at the end of first lab, since the best they can get is some attribute + a skill point (you need cruel lab to get to the ascendancy nodes from the other classes) which may make it more difficult. But all in all, it looks good. If you are willing to lose elementalist's 'cannot take reflected elemental damage' I'd advise you to grab Chieftain instead of Elementalist, as it grants us chance to cover enemies in ash (20% increased fire damage taken, which is MASSIVE and also slows the enemy!)

ImSlower is right. Remember that 'ignoring' resistances makes them behave like they don't exist. Penetrations and reductions completely stop working and that's kinda bad in the current state of the game where you can get a lot of these stats.

Thanks for the great reply. I will try this build and I will probably take chieftain instead as recomended. I didn't know what the ash effect did but it seems pretty great!

Hey there!
Running my second league and started with this build.
I'm wondering about the open gem slots though - could you elaborate on the rest of the (possible) gem setup? For instance, you mention Wave of Conviction for the 25% pen, but do you link it with anything?
Thanks for the build, hoping to have a lot of fun with it this league :)

Yeah I still haven't linked wave of conviction gem, sorry for that! I'm using Wave of Conviction linked to Arcane surge (so it grants us more damage) and faster casting (self-explanatory). I also put flame dash in here to benefit from both of these supports.
For the empty, unused sockets - you can try putting vaal haste here (for bosses) or some other gems you like.

Use two mana flasks before you get the first labyrinth. First lab is HUGE for mana sustain.
