Then you shouldn't have admitted it disagreed with the truth.

It seemed you were trying to convince me that Trump was not a racist. If that was not your goal then, oh well, I guessed wrong. It seemed like a reasonable assumption on my part. I admit I do not know what your goals are.

Do I have to post them a THIRD time, or can you just scroll up?
Sorry, I don't care enough to go back and reread posts to try to figure out what you are going on about.
Le sigh.

I am not defending Trump against racism generally — at least, not right now. What I am defending him from is the claim, echoed by you, that he said some white nationalists are fine people. That's not quite what I'm claiming — I'm claiming they did something horrible, not that they're evil — but

Whats strange is someone being dumb enough to think that support is real.
So when Duke endorses Gabbard, it's ironic, but when Duke endorses a speech where Trump says "white nationalists… should be condemned totally," it's serious business?

You can't honestly be serious? You don't see the difference of a KKK leader praising the president for not condemning white nationalism in his speech compared to endorsing a non white democrat that would never accept his endorsement? Play stupid if you like i guess.

i'm dead serious. Trump explicitly condemned white nationalists in that speech, which is the polar opposite of not condemning.
That's what the quotation marks in my previous post mean.

Listen for yourself. Start at 18:27 and it'll take less than two minutes.

Also, this is a bit of a nitpick, but Duke is a former KKK leader. Since then they've split over creative differences and no longer get along. Duke is still a white supremacist though.

Thats the 3erd time he spoke about it. Keep playing dumb. Republicans even heavily pressured Trump to condemn white nationalism. It was just like when he pretended to not know who David Duke was and took a bunch of pressure for him to condemn him.

Daily Stormer editor Andrew Anglin said "Trump did the opposite of cuck. He refused to even mention anything to do with us. When reporters were screaming at him about White Nationalism he just walked out of the room.

in a tweet that was retweeted by Flake, Gardner said: "Mr. President – we must call evil by its name. These were white supremacists and this was domestic terrorism.

You're correct that that's the third time he spoke on it. I highlighted the Tuesday Aug 15 speech because it's where corporatist media farmed the out-of-context sound bite. On Monday Aug 14 Trump addressed Charlottesville, calling "hate groups" and "racism evil." Heather Heyer was murdered Saturday August 12, so later that day Trump gave brief comments at a bill signing in which he "condemn[ed] in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence on many sides." This first speech did draw considerable criticism — in part due to corporatist media refusal to cover the (nonlethal) violence perpetrated by Antifa, which made Trump's remarks confusing to most — as did Trump's inactivity on Sunday Aug 13.

Andrew Anglin was lying (surprise surprise) because Trump condemned his cause in all three speeches. But Gardner (via Senator Flake) wasn't wrong — it would have been better if Trump had been more specific on Aug 12. That's the kind of mistake one makes when one rushes one's work to get back to their weekend. I think Trump needed to learn to put away the fucking golf clubs away and properly deal with weekend crises when they come up, and in that context I too think Trump fucked up. He gravely underestimated the importance of Charlottesville in a culture of where highly divisive racialism is fairly mainstream.

But he still never said some white nationalists were fine people.

Note: I remembered events slightly wrong on first writing this post, and edited in corrections.

What, I don't remember explicitly saying that CNN lied. I assume again that you are trying to put words in my mouth that I didn't say. I will tell you again, I don't give a shit about CNN.

This was calculated and he has a pattern of this behavior. Whether hes really a racist or just pandering to the racists side of his base doesn't matter to much. This wasn't being lazy. He was trying to paint both sides the same. This was put on by Neo Nazis and the KKK. The vast majority of the counter protestors where locals. Both sides aren't even close to equal. Trying to pretend this was perpetrated by anti-fa is total bs.

Why do you always say corporatist media? As if that means anything. The right wing are even bigger corporate whores then the Dems. In a thread for the most corporate friendly president since Reagan. The only time a right wing person seems to have a problem is when they think it's a left wing corp.

Then me and you are done with that subject. I made two claims; the former you already agreed to, and the second involved CNN. If you refuse to discuss CNN in earnest, then you're refusing to contend with my second claim.

If you had actually read my claims, you could have figured this out before the third time I posted them.

Although I'm still curious — why don't you care about CNN?

I say corporatist because 1) they are and 2) the previous label, mainstream media aka MSM, is no longer valid — recent studies show most Americans get their news via social media or alternative news sources.

Which party is the bigger corporate whores at the moment is a matter of circumstance and fundamental nature, not a function if ideological purity. If corporate interests are best served by the repeal of existing law, they favor Republicans; if corporate interests are best served by the creation of new and unfair laws, they favor Democrats. Many corporations seek both services and thus lobby both sides of the aisle. I will tell you this though: for any particular corporate interest, there are only so many laws they want repealed, whereas the number of new and unfair laws they want is limited only by their imagination and their budget. The Democrat party is destined to become more corrupt than the GOP if corporatism continues to increase its grip on the American political system.

I don't think corporatists have too many more fair and anti-corporatist laws to repeal before they throw away the Republican Party like a disposable razor. The party switch is already well underway. I fear you're too focused on where the ball was, and not on where it's going.

Republicans will always be the party of big money because they value it more then anything. You said nothing based in reality.

I read your second claim about CNN but assumed that was not your final goal. This is a thread about All Hail President Trump. I didn't appreciate that your goal wasn't really about Trump. So, I addressed the Trump portion of your post but just didn't appreciate that I was ignoring the part of your post that you felt was more important.

I don't have any reason to care about discussing CNN in this thread?

BTW, I did look back in the thread at my own posts and searched for CNN. After reading all the parts of my posts about CNN, I'm more certain that I never accidentally said that CNN lied or mislead about Trump praising white nationals or anything like that. So, you must have interpreted my lack of statement about CNN being some kind of an agreement that I never intended.
