Anything I can do to improve? (Character name is Qopgcm)
Im currently having 40k hideout dps without flasks or anything
I know I should get better dagger and get gc conversion enchant and drop long winters but other than that what can I do to improve this damage? People in this thread have a lot more and I really put a lot into this character already currency-wise
hello guys, what is better armor than carcass jack, because i feel using carcass jack doesnt boost my dps that much, and the area of effect doenst feel like significant, because i've been using tabula, until i get this shaper helm, and i feel like nothing significant other than i have more resist and life, i've got 30k at HO with inc crit, and 36k, with conc effect, this is my current gear
Spoiler
i have 2 exalt to spend, what should i upgrade, other than 6l my armor
Buy normal dagger/rapier with extra cold.Whats the point to have 2 extra fire on weapons with this amulet? Buy boots wit encant 120% crit chance if you doesnt crit recently.Game doesnt count crit from mines like character crit.So you get bonus 120% nearly always.(120% ~ 8% crit chance to cascade)

You have 5 link helmet and you have extra lightning damage ->you can buy helmer with remote mine+innervate. Why people so like this enchant with 10% elem penetration?120% crit chance has much more profit. Your shield is so-so (better to have another dagger or rapier with 2 extra damage).Switch diamond ring to opal.

Innervate don't work with mines. The only reason you get that innervate helm + remote mine is for the shock effectiveness that comes with innervate which is once again pointless with pandemonius as if you're going to use innervate helm, it's more end game and end game= yoke of suffering for amulet.
Also about Pen vs crit chance for boots. The crit chance portion can be achieved via other means such as diamond flask, passive tree whereas 10% pen is simply 10% multiplier and it goes against everything, even stuff with no resist, it just means you'll do that much more damage. Plug in the numbers against something with resist in PoB against end game bosses, Pen is king. That's is why.

I have several ideas of modifying/improving the build but I have neither the time nor the funds to go through with them just now. So I'll just post them here, maybe you have opinions on that or want to try something out:
The general idea is to make use of the Shaped helmet that already grants Remote Mine support for our main skill.
ShadowGenisys has already posted a version with Frostbolt mines for clear and GC for bosses. This is the basic two skill approach of two-handed or bow builds that have always had two main 6L skills.
Such a Shaped helmet can roll the following (pseudo-)links:
Remote Mine / Additional Mine (I take this for granted, Suffix)
Hypothermia (Suffix)
Socketed Spells have % to crit chance (Suffix)
Inc AoE (Prefix)
So in a dream world that could become a pseudo 8L with life and another prefix. However with only one of Hypothermia, Crit% and Inc AoE we have a relevant item to host one of two main skills. If it has Inc AoE, this is obviously designated to hold the clear skill.
Now I'm not so sure aboult Frostbolt as said clear skill for it doesn't synergize well with our GC focused skill tree and equipment:
doesn't benefit from phys damage
we don't scale projectiles
requires two threshold jewels to work
So I was looking at Bladefall as another phys based spell, which we could convert:
phys to lightning gem for 50%
Hrimburn for the remaining 50% (this also makes the Long Winters redundant)
Now this looks good on paper but I have never used Bladefall:
Could you imagine it wo work with mines? Is the skill mechanically better suited for clearing? After all, we could just fuel two GC setups instead.
Are there other spells that would make sense given our class and skill tree?
Another topic is that about chest armors. It's a shame that so many interesting armors for this build are armor and or evasion bases (Belly, Farrul's, Perfect Form). There are several green and red supports (Hypothermia, Trap/Mine Damage, Added Fire) and Bladefall itself is green as well. However with Remote Mine and Minefield we have two mandatory blues in every setup and beyond that either our skill is blue or it needs PtL. Traps are probably not an option given the ascendancy revamp.
Any other relevant skill we could use with few off-colors other than a glorified Shield Charge with Culling Strike and Curse on Hit?

So much for now, maybe I can inspire someone ;)
Bladefall blows, they cast where the mine is at if IIRC; at least that was the problem with bladefall totem. Frostbolt requires 2 of it's own threshold jewels to make it worth the AoE clear speed but it's is a rather nice way to level this char. A mate of mine made it from start and use a tabula for his GC links. Even though FB do not get any bonuses from #% gain extra physical as x element, it does get it's damage from our crit chance/multi, spell damage as well as % increases to mines from the gem links is more than enough- I was roughly about 45k tooltip with FB prior to obtaining my farrul's fur which resulted in me using the helm for my GC link instead as it's a bitch to colour 5B 1G on that.
I've been looking for some alternatives that didn't require you to switch weapons for it to work however if you don't mind having to switch weapons to clear stuff, the winner is probably going to be kinetic blast mines- that thing will just wipe screens like nobody's business but this require decent enough gear and optimal pathing on the passive tree for it to work. Next league I'll give that one a shot- this will mostly require you to drop clear mind and add in herald of ice for the 1 cast of mines = shatter a couple of screens of mobs in 1 shot.
Another one I was tempted to try is with my helm is Icespear.
Alright- here's a vid showcasing bladefall and icespear. They both suck lol. Ice spear doesn't work like frostbolt, it has a small hitbox and actually the projectiles can all home on 1 target but GC does that better, if it was a wide spread then shit, that might have been fun.
Bladefall- still has that same problem it has with totems :(, it's where you lay the mines and once again, GC has a much better range and potential AoE to it and safer in that regards since you can hit stuff offscreen with it
Here's the vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll6ymoYKOA8&feature=youtu.be
Though- Bladefall might potentially be a good fire and forget speed clear build but it will require heavy investment in increase AoE, like literally no Conc effect allowed and taking the increase AoE nodes on the passive tree + carcass jack.

Thanks for your input and effort. I agree that Bladefall looks bad as a mine. Too bad ;)
So I'd probably try to get a 7-8L helmet with Inc AoE for GC and buy a Kaom's Heart. Inc AoE is mainly for convenience though. I've tried to get rid of it, but without success so far. I was hoping for the Long Winters to make Inc AoE redundant.
I hate to post this, as quite a few have posted requesting advice before me. I'm at the point where I've quit some of the previous leagues I've played. Doing t10 maps or so with no real progress, mostly due to lack of gear. I've never been rich or anything, but I do have like 300 chaos or so to spend this time around. My biggest problem is never being able to tell what to spend my currency on. I'm level 89 and still using Tabula Rasa is quite telling I'd say. I did get my "additional mine" Helmet today for 35ish chaos which is certainly a decent upgrade from my previous one.
Is there a consensus on which armor would be at least "undoubtedly-good" for this build? The last few pages are more confusing than anything. Or what should I buy next anyway? I'm using two Long Winters for the conversion.
I would really appreciate a simple list of items which I should upgrade first if nothing else.
The skill tree seems to be pretty solid anyways as I managed to kill The Eradicator today with my not-so-great gear. It's a really nice guide, no doubt about that. I'm just not confident on buying anything, even though I do have a decent amount of currency.

need to get yourself a cheap-ish (or good one, depending on the money you have) shaper dagger with % physical as extra cold damage. You also may be better with the belt of the deceiver for now than with the belt you have. And maybe change your tabula to a rare 6 link with some defenses on it (life, resists etc.). It won't cost you that much.
