hey,

really want to go as a golem elementalist this league. does the leveling section differs alot when you going for elementalist? never played necro/witch so i'm a bit clueless :D any advice would be very helpful

Convocation does about same job as both Phase Run and Immortal Call as it draws minion near you adding more targets and meatshield to block physical hits. The new node dropping cooldown to 4 second actually makes it useful skill now.

FYI, cooldown numbers don't work like that. 50% increased CDRS means cooldown will be 50% faster, not 50% lower. In other words:

100% ÷ [100% base recovery speed + 50% Invoker bonus / 100]
= 66.67%

Your cooldown will take 66.67% of the amount of time it would normally take:
8s x .66
= ~5.3s

Not 4 seconds. Still really good though and an improvement I'm looking forward too.

Yep, if taking Elementalist the buff for each golem affect only you and does not care about Golem types. Primordial Harmonies add damage from each Golem type, but mixing drops the number of actively attacking Golems so the benefit is small.

You may want to re-examine the Elementalist nodes. One of them gives +damage to the caster (up to 140% Increased). The other gives +damage to golems (again up to 140% increased).

Mixing golems is actually the biggest way to max out DPS. The benefit is quite large. I realize this is a Necro thread, but please look into other Ascendancies more carefully to avoid passing off potentially inaccurate advice.

I recommend switching to Occultist at near level 85-90 when most important nodes are taken and endgame gear collected. Occultist is still missing minion damage node, so leveling Occultist with pure minions could be pretty miserable.

Foe the elementalist I would go :
- Liege of Primordial
- Elemancer
- Paragon of calamity
- Then maybe small nodes leading to Pendulum of Destruction and Shaper of Desolation

Non-Golem nodes don't affect minion based Elementalist much, so would maybe run merci and uber labs later.

The Elementalist leveling works pretty much the same. You can use specters and zombies, but you have to go all out on Golems as soon as you can. Maybe use Necromantic Aegis with Victarios Charity or dual Clayshaper and Flesh Offering instead of Bone Offering as Elementalist can't use Bone Offering for extra block. Elementalist will be pretty DPS oriented to play and requires more kiting as chance to block is much lower.

Have been reading notes at late night after writing guide for all day, so missed some of the lines.

Cooldown on Convocation is now at least better than it was. Can still hope that we get 4 sec cooldown one day ;)

Misread the damage 20% per Golem line totally. With Pob I checked and got results that :
- 4x Flame Golems in necro = total damage 1x
- 7x Flame Golems in Elementalist = total damage 1,33x
- 5x Flame Golems, 1xIce Golem and 1xLightning Golem in Elementalist = total damage 1,33x

Elementalists Golems deal more damage, but problem is that their AI makes them go to melee range with bosses and cycle through weaker attacks. Tukohamas just place totems and start melting boss at 2-3x speed compared to Golems. Maybe mixing Tukohamas with Elementalist would boost boss killing to same speeds?

Very interesting collection of examples. I'd say that the pure Golems setup had slowest time, as Golems started to cycle through non Orb attacks. But as I have said earlier, the problem is not the Golems, but rather the Specters with Soul Weaver.

Either GGG nerfs Specs or buffs Golems to make them equal in boss fights. Before that Specs will be better at boss fights no matter what pure Golem combo is used.

Depends totally what you want. All minion builds are really strong and have variations in how they play. "tomatopotato" Please forgive me, but I'm making another compare list XD But I have to say that I have played with Elemetalist recently so I have more experience about it. I'd love to see your comparison lists also between Ele vs Necro.

Elementalist

- Less utility as cant use offering for more block, movement speed, healing, etc
- Less useful Ascendancy nodes in total
- More overall DPS for clearing maps as more Golems spamming Orbs and Golems deal more damage
- Requires more kiting and knowledge of boss mechanics as less defenses
- New elemental status immunities can be nice and save flask slots

Necromancer

- More utility as you can select offering to use for yourself
- More useful Ascendancy nodes in total
- Less overall DPS for clearing as less Golems, but much more boss DPS as TV Specters deal way higher single target DPS
- Can use higher block chance so more forgiving, though not 75/75 anymore
- Using Specters with Golems is recommended to make up for less total Golem damage

I prefer Necro for its sheer number of utility nodes and specialized roles for Golems as map-clear and Specters for boss killing. Both minions are strongest for their roles. New Elementalist looks pretty cool and its easy to switch Ascendancies with few dozen Regrets as trees are almost identical so maybe even try both?

when making a non minion-instability golem build wich is better for single target DPS: primordial eminence or primordial harmony.

another question: does flame golem's magma ball skill overlap? or is GMP only for clear speed?
