my damage is leagues behind most people in this thread, wondering what im doing wrong, pob says 25k dps with barrage. i went deadeye instead of pathfinder to help early on with my low budget, but it does not seem to have helped much.

any tips on what to gear on a minuscule budget of less than 3ex would be appreciated.

Thanks for all the insightful posts on wands. They were very enlightening (I apologize if my post unintentionally triggered anyone though).

For my current build, Piscator is still slightly better than or on par with the majority of the wands I tried adding via POB after taking into account culling strike (I bought my culling Piscator for 2.5ex btw, so I'm comparing it with wands potentially up to 10ex?).

However, looking at other pple's builds I realized that the reason is mainly because I'm not using Lycosidae, so the accuracy Piscator gives makes enough of a difference for it to edge out/be on par with other wands. Now thinking of swapping out my tri-resist evasion shield for Lycosidae, or well, better rings sigh.

until you get a dying sun, try using greater multiple projectiles instead of faster attacks on barrage. the tooltip will go down, but overall damage will increase. if you want more damage, try to prioritize abyss jewels and items with abyss sockets. you need a couple more levels as well, so you can grab the "wandslinger" nodes, "arcing blows", etc
Have you ever considered using the volley fire gem to get a ton of extra barrage projectiles? Wondering whether it'd be effective or not.... LMK your thoughts - thanks!

yes it's unavoidable, but you gotta think on long range, kinetic blast is already op on a 4 link and while mapping you'll always be flasked up so you won't need that much damage as on your single target skill (barrage), plus, remember that the skill tooltip doesn't show the 10% increased attack damage from intimidate, which you should take into account when hitting mobs with KB :)

useful upgrades for you:

- absolutely bring to quality 20% your gems, using the vendor recipe if needed, even if you'll have to level them again (19/20 gems are still better). And note that a level 20 slower projectiles is worse than level 19 for barrage because it slows projectiles further while providing no extra damage, so if you bring a slower projectile gem to 20/20 your goal should always be to corrupt it and hope for level 21 to add damage; if not, as weird it may sound, a level 19/20 gem is better for barrage.

- stygian vise with life and resistances...could be expensive but that extra abyssal jewel slot is too good to give it up, it potentially means extra flat damage/attack speed/crit multi

- you're still at level 90 and missing 2 extra jewel socket which mean a huge upgrade on dps if you can fill them with abyssal jewels with flat lightning damage, attack speed/ attack speed on crit/ crit multi/elemental damge etc. or more life
reaching level 94 shouldn't be too hard and with those 4 extra points you'll take 2 useful jewel slots

- helmet with +1 barrage projectile, you can go with a rare one or starkonja's head (I kept starkonja for the extra life)

- your actual rings aren't bad, but when you got cash you should try and get some Diamond or Opal rings...I went for Diamond ones because they were cheaper and got more useful stats for me, however, any of these 2 bases will mean a good dps boost if you can get damage rolls on them

- amulet with more life perhaps?

- piscator with higher rolls, the best ones are attack speed and % elemental damage

- level 21 wrath (quality isn't important), and if you have enough mana and currency, link wrath with a level 3 empower and level 3 enlighten (empower 4 as last upgrade).
if you can't find free sockets for these 3 links, you could remove onslaught from Herald and link enighten, you end with a bit less mana but can weapon swap without problems.
Make sure with path of building, that you always have at least 130-140 unreserved mana, a bit less is still acceptable though

- later, level 21/20 added lightning damage and 21/20 barrage, in this order. they scale base damage and will greatly improve single target.

- a vessel of vinktar flask with 10% lightning penetration (cheaper and effective!) or atziri's promise with top elemental damage roll (even cheaper and super effective! but less defensive for lightnig damage and doesn't add shock).
I strongly recommend you to upgrade the "lightning penetration" vinktar with a "added lightning damage to attacks later as possible, since all the previous upgrades will help a lot more

A lot DPS shown off in this thread are min-maxed glass-cannons with at least 50ex budget.

Your gear and tree arent awful, you should have more than enough damage for mapping.
You absolutely should fix the basics though. Your flask setup is absolute garbage, you're not taking advantage of QoTF which is the cornerstone of this build.

Your flask setup for now should look like this:

Divine HP Flask, Jade, Stibnite, Quicksilver, Diamond.
You also need the following affixes on your flasks: Staunching (bleed), Grounding (shock), Of Heat (freeze), Warding (curses).
Thats a couple chaos/couple dozen alterations for a MASSIVE increase in movement speed and clear speed.

When it comes to upgrades you should get 20/20 gems (corrupted 20/20 are dirt cheap on Standard)
Then probably just level to at least 90.
Then get a 6L (you can snag a corrupted 6L QOTF for 3ex on Standard) and Dying Sun.

dying sun is bugged in pob, take the dmg of 1 projectile and multiply by 8. use a 1.1 multiplier for vinktar shock as well (should be slightly more due to shock effectiveness but i used 1.1 in my calculations). pretty sure you also imported my character while having headhunter + ring/jewel to cap resist equipped
