PVP Supporter Pack - Chris responded 7/10 & 7/11 & 7/12
I still don't get you guys obsession with an Hostile button. I don't know how it work in Dark Soul serie but if it's like Diablo 2 (and I played that game a LOT) what do you think will happen ? Do you really expect the person you hostile will fight you back ? Probably 2% of them will do that, the 98% others will TP in town and create another instance without you and you'll never see them again. And god forbid this would work in map, Reddit would go absolute apeshit if you could waste people maps this way.
Also on this internet daya, your account name probably gonna end up on some kind of blacklist excluding you from trades, rotations or anything socially related with countless forum post about removing this feature. " In Dark souls if you havnt killed the boss of an area you are open to being invaded and if you have other players helping you in your party your chances of being invaded go up. Invades have less life and fewer flasks than the host and you can only invade 10 levels below your own or 20 levels above there are similar restriction to wepon level as well. Go watch a dark souls stream some time or check out their subreddit because theres a whole community of people that enjoy this kind of play. D2 pvp would not have been as popular if all you had were boring honor duels. If you worried about kiddies QQing on the reddits we might as well shut the whole game down. IGN:Dethklok

Same posts every day, every week, every month for years. I get a lot of you are new to PvP around here but all of this has already been written. Written both at better times of this games life (when fixes were feasible) and by better players (who've since quit or don't give a shit anymore).
-Game design discourages a "hostility button". Maps/hideouts cater heavily to the casuals who just want to kill monsters. Scratch instance invading, any Dark Souls match making similarities. Scratch just about anything PvP related outside of semi structured queue based PvP or Sarn arenas bastardized version of "open PvP". -Offering to pay money for game balance is....laughable. -Greendude didn't know shit about LLD nor HLD. -Just go read every PvP post I've ever made. What you want now, I already suggested (except a supporter pack where we pay money for game balance because...well that's fucking stupid). What would of fixed this game was already ignored. Where this game would go was already predicted. You guys are holding on and trying way too hard. Almost every idea contradicts the game design and/or involves basically prostituting yourselves for game balance. Understand GGG is a company consisting of guys that literally did nothing but Mephisto run daily and were the very people that tp'd to town when a PK showed up. To type "lololyolyog rolfycopter u r a fagzor" then left like a little bitch. Or just instantly exited the game and went to a passworded one. Look at these forums now and look at them when this game was released. Nothing has changed, it's a bad case of groundhog day... Every poster is just re-tracing the steps/posts of past PvP'ers. Don't pm me a link to this crap again, thanks. GGG, the ADA of gaming....huuuur i gotz mai skilz.

I think it's pretty much a given that if this becomes a thing and it doesn't work then we'd probably all be writing such things or not here at all, like the others. I mean the 50 you threw towards your last supporter pack, what if you could've just thrown another 50 in and try to fix pvp? You still get points, so what's big deal? Pvpm is logical, as they said, they can't balance pvp, because of "reasons" or be like WoW 2Vs2 due to similar small sample size problems etc etc. The logical approach would be Pvpm, as Pvpm is usually used/ available in pve focused games, like poe is, right now, whereby single 1vs1 balance is impossible. Pvpm - is a type of game mode, where you pitch 2 team of players against npcs, this can work in various of ways, If you take a look at the Asian style games, this system is more prominent. Examples Lineage 2 (mmo) Pvpm group of 5? enters a special instance, with defensive structures/ higher ground/ defend able locations etc etc, where players have to try and survive as long as possible, killing the wave master monster to progress, ofc the monsters would scale up rapidly, and more and more spawn trying to overwhelm your team etc. Kinda like a horde mode, Game run. There was a weekly ladder, for the teams to compete against each other and with prizes, guild reputation etc. Not this speed focused "end game" lab race bullshit, (I don't understand Ggg's focus on races either, but we'll leave that for another day,( like theres absolutely no purpose to have a geared up lvl 90+ at all, in Any events)) Example 2, Vindictus, Vindictus another korean stlye game, where its entire combat system is like dynasty warriors, the every thought of pvp solo balance was out of the window, However had a surprisingly good pvp system was installed, on 1vs1, combo as chaining 1 set move along can outright kill your opponent without counters, Pvpm was actually relatively well balanced. Team 1 (5 players +1 npc boss) vs Team 2(5 players +1 npc boss) Objective was simple, kill your enemys boss, or defend your own boss and kill the enemy players. Kill enemy team members = respawm timer, duration increased per kill. spawn token limit (if enemy team dies x amount of times, you win) If you kill enemy boss, you win. The boss was huge, and is Reaaaaly over powered with 11 bars of health, 1 hit does 66% of your life. (you can bring pots/ res feathers into the arena) Ofc there's chests of overups etc. I had the strongest known weapon ingame at the time, only 6 was known to exist in the world, The entire enemy team would pile up on me (and kill me, then focus my boss, while ignoring my team mates), It was rather fun, as majority of the community had similar power level, new bosses/ Armour sets, were only a bare faction better, like 5 int or 100 Armour, but everything added up. ^ just woke up, excuses me for poor write up. These game modes would work incredibility well in Poe, The very act of me talking about it, excites me (and others I've talked to others alike, Even fyndel), but then again, These are only thoughts and concepts from other games, These things would never happen in Poe, Reality hits like a brick wall, and I get reminded "endgame lab" is all that we have, as usual I utter these very words.... any creative idea is a good thing, and you dalb are a cool guy, thx for passsion and positive thinking... but PVP is just not in this company DNA.
in my opinion PVP requires at least one full time employee to move on and make more popular. PVP needs tournaments, pvp seasons, rankings, difficulty/achivments leagues, challenges etc. 1.3 pvp patch and pvp seasons 1&2 were a good move for PVP, LLD was alive and fun but... is dead now. without continous work any idea dies sooner or later. i will not buy ANY supporter packs at all because i dont like the direction where this game (pve) is heading to. |
