Development Manifesto: Prophecy Changes

Yep, exactly. I hope that we will get it at least as an affordable Zana map mod (and a long-lasting one I should say), so that we can create our own Talisman content so to say. Then again, it would be way better if it was implemented as a core feature, I believe that a stone circle with a reasonable (i.e. not too obtrusive) chance to spawn would be bearable even for people who didn't like the league...

And maybe they would even start enjoying it - there's a great difference between a feature you encounter every now and then, and a new league feature that is almost mandatory for everyone.

So +1 for Talisman features.

For those people who don't like Talisman, just don't use them on a stone circle and ignore the mechanics. That's why I don't understand people complaining about the prophecies. If you don't like them / the mechanic, just skip them entirely and go straight for the maps/lab runs/Atziri farming/whatever you prefer. But I think it is always a good idea to have more choices.

With Talisman, I believe the problem for GGG here is that the stone circles eat up a "spawn location" inside a level/map, like for example also Cadiro / Pendarus mobs would do. It would possibly conflict with future league mechanics?

Having Talisman as a Zana mod for like 1 chaos would be too expensive imo as you need to farm alot talisman for the stone circles and trigger Rigwald in the end. It should be alot cheaper.
hope this league will be added to core game ... in form of master or in form of random chance to find/activate prophecies in maps etc

Probably not.

Thank you, those are wellcome changes.

I would love to see more story-like prophecies in the future! Or at least more atmospheric events which occurs in certain environment. Some chained prophecies are interesting but usually you just need to kill something and that's it. :)

How about for example escort mission while encoutering magic bandits along the way and defeat bandit boss in the final destination (camp?).

Or for example ghoust spawn (including torment spirits) triggered near graves in cementary themed areas with unique lighting.

I also like vermin porphecies. :) Kind of different feel to harvest peacefull mobs running away and dropping extra loot.
made everything more casual accesible and general pandering to reddit
nice
Awesome.
Well gonna say tnx ggg for a good map drop last nyt. Gonna take another 180 map on bosses and find 20x colosseum to take down daresso. Ya XP gain is really poor now, idk if I can reach endgame lvl this time. GL everyone\0/

I understand that I'm strange, but I actually enjoy the backtracking prophecies. I mean I don't care for going back a difficulty when I didn't manage to complete something in Act 4, but I like occasionally breaking the monotony of maps with traveling back through Merciless difficulty to pickup some things. When the rares simply don't exist, that can certainly be a pain, but otherwise I like having an incentive to travel through areas I've already been. I'd like to see more of that in this game, so I hope these prophecies won't be too rare, although perhaps more compelling incentives could be implemented sometime.

In any case, I've really been enjoying Prophecy and would dearly love to see it incorporated into the core game, with the understanding that some adjustments will need to be made. (Could that make Navali Path of Exile's equivalent of Deckard Cain? The one NPC who's with you in all acts.) While there seem to be balance problems to consider, one of my favorite new mechanics is performing challenges that upgrade low-level unique items to something that can carry you through later levels and difficulties. I would like to see more of this sort of thing.

I also like the backtracking and I think adjusting the cost for saeling a prophecy that you don't want at the moment might be enough to fix that problem for most people already?
