Shield Charge
"The skill does a melee hit at the end. Adding wands would require a new set of animations for each character for this, and result in doing a melee hit with a non-melee weapon, which could cause issues which which modifiers to apply. It's not a matter of unbalance, it's a matter of requiring lots of work to allow wands to work with it, which cannot be prioritised at this stage even if we decide we want that.

" I disagree. It's a fun skill, a bit quirky which can make it challenging but certainly not "burning a hole into this game's integrity".
Nice skill...but yes it misses frequently the target, expecially when the attacker and the target are at different altitude..
Nice graphical effect..I like it..
All the sort of weird misses aside, and that melee with wands (it needs to happen anyways to DW it with daggers :D) will likely not be something we see till Act 4, a completely different question:
I've seen one remark so far that Tempest Shield should affect this. I would agree with that, and I'd also like to chip in reflect damage. If I'm charging through the enemy with an electrified, spiked shield, and a spikecovered armor, that reflect damage should be dealt. It'd be miniscule, sure, but it's a bit of damage that a lot of people have been clamoring for. Knockback is generally pitiful, but I suppose it's a safety measure to reduce the chances of getting things stuck in walls. If the hit things are fixed, a slight damage nerf might be necessary; For the hit thing, maybe make an AOE with 'concentrated cleave' size, but max hit limit of one, like LA functions. Obviously, need to make sure it doesn't actually work with concentrated.^^ Zaanus: Global chat: Mechanics for A work one way, B for another, C for a third but also with A, B uses C but not A, and D uses A&B but not C ___ Isn't a "no" better than an ignore? I have a sword n' board marauder and I literally spam shield charge all day. Hit an enemy, target the furthest in the mob, and so on.
I don't think that it misses, I think it's just hard to land sometimes. Your target has to be highlighted, it won't work if you are close, even VERY close. If your mouse doesnt turn into a hand it's not targeting anything
For the love of god fix this skill. Close range hits miss all the time. As it stands now, it's completely useless.
You want to recreate the problem at the office? Try using it on the totem at the ledge. Since he doesn't move your hits don't connect. The only reason you can hit any guy is because it moves away from you before it attacks. You could add a knockback to the skill (which would make sense considering you're charging into the guy) but that still wouldn't fix it when the enemy is stuck against a wall. You need to make it when you are within melee range with the skill you don't charge forward more, you just slam with the shield. That would fix this. "I just killed every monster in the ledge with close-range shield charges, and not once did it fail to hit. Are you sure you're actually selecting/highlighting the monsters when you click, not the ground near them? "Shield charge already does knockback if you charge more than a short distance. This is mentioned in the skill description, but could perhaps do with being described more clearly.
Cmon man, give me and the countless others having this problem a little credit. Shield charge is on the left click. I can hit 10 times in a row and not a single one hits, but if I move a little they will start hitting again. When you get too close to the enemy, basically right on top of him, it stops hitting.

" This might be completely unrelated, but how the hell do you hit the ground near them? Even if I try, the auto aim always targets a nearby mob. Not bad for this kind of skill, but when trying to place, say, a poison cloud, not very helpful either. So I don't quite see how this could happen quite so frequently for some people. Zaanus:
