" I don't see anything on your gear that couldn't be replaced fairly cheaply. That Sol Loop ring is pretty bad. Get an essence worm and a lvl 20 wrath. Your neck needs offense stats, like Lightning Damage% or Spell Damage %, same with your gloves. Cast speed is a premium, but lightning or spell damage isn't tough. Also your belt has no resists on it. You can make up the resists you'll use from your ring and neck slot there, and your damage will skyrocket. " As Grumblde0r said, many cheap upgrades available. Re-read "cheap upgrades post" on original post by Enki! Here is an example of cheap 1c upgrade belt, search for 85 life and 90 resist belt on poe.trade/whatever. You can also looks at some some bonus stats like flask duration/mana/armor/shield, ONCE the list comes up, don't add to filter! http://poe.trade/search/wonazichisania Trick is; limit filters to what you need, and you NEED Life/Resists for belt slot. Capping Resists is HUGE, yours is missing Cold! Don't get greedy and look for everything in filter until you are ready to pay. Perfect example is the same 85life/90res belt as a "STYGIAN" starts at 60c and UP! Also look for items you can master craft to make work. An OK DPS ring/ammy might just need you to drop a master craft "resist or stat" on it to make it a huge upgrade... |

@enki91
Thanks, made my profile public https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Pease1/characters?characterName=ChugsArcWitch One think to note, I'm an older guy, so speed is less important to me. I take things slowly. Hence the shield swap-out. Maybe that's a bad choice due to less damage mitigation.... Anything you or other arc witch experts can suggest as 'next steps' for improving my character are greatly appreciated. Last edited by pease1#6119 on Oct 4, 2018, 1:26:24 PM

" You need + % Lightning damage on your rings/neck. " Take advantage of Delve League! Run those Delves! The Chaos flows like water down there and you'll get so much jewelry and items that you can easily net 10 Chaos per run, once you get to where the monster level is 65+. Seriously - Do it. Arc does all the work for you for a very long while, so just run and press the Arc button every once in awhile. When you get to the node, put up your Orb and stand there and spam arc until everything is dead... Plus, you can a lot of crafting materials down there, too, and Delve Crafting items to help you target-craft what you need. (Or, at least enough currency to buy the Delve fossils/tools you need, if you can't find some.) Get + spell/elemental/lightning wherever you can. The latter two are more important, since they are the only ones that effect the Inpulsa's explosions, but even +spell will help you a bit with single targets and general arc damage. I didn't look at your jewels/tree, so read over Enki's stuff on Jewelry, Jewels, and be sure to check your tree against Enki's progression through it, just so you have everything covered. Get an Abyss belt and follow Enki's guide for Abyss Jewels to get something to put in it. (I know you'll have to do some juggling on resists when replacing your ring/neck/belt but... that's part of the game, too. :) ) Also, work on your Atlas to farm Elder maps for boots/gloves/helm. At the very least you might get something nice to sell. Use an alch on every map your run, too - No exceptions. You should be able to sustain alchs through running maps and cracking items from your Delve runs. Don't waste chisels on low maps, either. Save them for later. Save up your really low maps and run a handful of them in one sitting, now and then, for farming. Use the "Map Upgrade" vendor formula (three of the same maps sold to vendor = one map of higher tier) sparingly and only when you have a lot of the lower map you're converting. You'll want to save some for shaping/farming. The Chaos flows in Delve... All other currency, too, except for Exalts. Just don't ignore the trash rares and scoop them up for vendoring for their mats, alch shards and Chaos Formula when you hit some jewelry stashes with lots of necklaces/rings. Yes, it's a bit of busy work, but you can net hundreds in Chaos from Delve runs even if you're not trying to go really deep. PS - "What is the best way to farm Exalted Orbs" is probably the most often asked question in PoE. There aren't many truly viable answers for it, either. But, if you ask "What is the best way to farm Chaos" in this League, the answer is doing Delves. |

" I was in your boat, here's what I did for the Inpulsas: Step 1) buy the best rolled, un-linked inpulsa you can, even it it's min rolls, put it in your stash and start hammering it with jewler's orbs while you grind lower maps. Eventually it will go 5+ sockets. Once it does, stop rolling sockets and start fusing it for your 5-link. I found 5-link impulsa was better than generic 6-link by FAR. Step 2) buy a decent un-linked Inpulsa - the best rolls you can afford. Continue advancing your maps/delve and spamming jewlers orbs on this one until you get 6 sockets. Spam fusings until it goes. For me this took about 2 weeks of nightly play, but I had average to above average luck. Once I had the 5-link it was less of a huge priority. Eventually I bought 250 fusings from the vendor to do the final push for the 6-link. Step 3) repeat step 2 with a max roll impulsa, or 6-link your 5-linked one to attempt an (expensive) corruption....or sell the 5-link to get your money back. Don't worry about getting a 6-link right away. The power jump (especially for delves and lower maps) for a 5-link is HUGE. Plus the explosions are much more fun. I just checked POE.Trade. 6-socket un-linked inpulsas start at 15C. Buy one of those instead of socketing it yourself if you have the Chaos. That way you can use your jewelers orbs to buy more fusings. Last edited by pease1#6119 on Oct 4, 2018, 1:35:15 PM

New question, I see a lot of Starkonja's Head Silken Hoods pre-enchanted with arc chains an additional time. Are these viable, or do I really want to pay extra for a crappy base I can craft? I'm having ZERO luck farming the enchant myself.

Hey Enki,
I'm nearing 94 and I see you're flirting with 100, so I had some end of build related questions. I have made only a couple of different choices than you in the tree; You went with 3 points off of Coordination for a total of 12 cast and attack speed. I chose to go with 3 into the Nimbleness cluster for 12 cast speed, 4 movement and 15% chance to avoid interruption. I figured that the attack speed is only helpful with shield charge and I'd like to run faster and I tend to get smacked around in Delve a bit, so the interruption choice seemed valid. You took the flask cluster, I will not. It's a perfectly good thing to take for most people, but I'm not the best player. I tend to never use a flask unless I'm taking damage. I lack good coordination, quick decision making and reaction skills. I know my limitations in gaming, so easy builds are really my thing. I did SRS for a long time because there's not a ton of thought in it. That's 3 more points I get to play with So, questions... You took 2 points for a total of 24% increased lightning damage in the elemental wheel (next to Celestial Punishment), do you think that will give you more DPS than say, the 2 remaining points in the Annihilation crit cluster (75% increased crit chance for spells, 15% multiplier) which is where I was looking to go next. I'm playing around with this and it seems to be doing really well. What I don't explode 2 rooms away is set on fire and half dead by the time I get there. Really good for clearing, likely not helping on tougher fights. Thoughts on this item? Spend 2 points for Lightning walker? 30% increased damage and 15% lightning resist seems efficient, but that might be messing with resist balance for people with Wise Oak (which I do not use currently), thoughts? Thanks again, level 95 is as far as I ever got with any build and I should shatter that if I can get enough play time. Dare I say, even 100 is within the realm of possibility. |

" If that helps single-target it looks VERY interesting...and it's CHEAP AS DIRT! |

I got Shaper down, uber elder guardians down and uber elder ready to go. 3 set's of frags banked!
This build works ! wish me luck :) |

Can you explain more about the cast sped threshold? I never heard of this threshold. What happened after the cast seed hitting 5?
