[3.0] NeverSink's ♣ INDEPTH Tornado&Archer Guide ♣ Beginner friendly ♣ Rapid clear ♣ All bosses

Hello, i like to know which ascendary class i should pick up.
Stats:

100% Pierce
1.5k Evasion
56% Dodge & Spell Dodge
3.9k Life

I use TS for both single and aoe, tried LA/BR already but i choos to stick on TS.
I think chain deadeye would be nice but a friend told me that its not possible to chain if i have 100% pierce.
So i asking myself: Onslaught Raider or is it worth to respec to Chain Deadeye.

As much as i like the build and guide, there is so much confusion goin on here. Some clarifications would be highly appreciated.

So What about Tornado and Deadeye +1 chain? Can anybody out there tell me about the current state? I hear everywhere that its counterproductive due to tornado shot's pierce. Am confused :S

Thanks in advance.

Sorry for bad english

" Pierce
The projectile passes through the enemy and continues along its previous trajectory. Piercing may have less than a 100% chance. Pierce chance is rolled independently for every hit. If a projectile fails to pierce one of the other effects listed in this section may apply. "

found this on wiki page so first pierce roll than fork roll than chain roll

Yup. Powerful precision works like point blank, so the pierce bonus will never get below 50%.
So either go for 50% extra pierce chance from passives or from gem :)

Powerful Precision does not have a minimum amount of Pierce chance, it'll drop straight to zero if the Projectile remains in flight long enough.

Who is correct?

"Projectiles have 100% additional chance to Pierce targets at the start of their movement, losing this chance as the projectile travels further"
because of these two underlined words, I'm tempted to say it's Frankenberry, despite Vipermagi has very extensive knowledge of game mechanics.

"Additional" means it's a separate stack from "increased" (afaik), and "this" refers to the bonus granted by Powerful Precision.

I'll drop a PM to Vipermagi to have his idea on this.

"Powerful precision works like point blank, so the pierce bonus will never get below 50%."
...what?

Point Blank starts at +50% Damage and ends at -50% Damage, for a total drop of 100 points.
Now you tell me how you came to the conlusion that this means Powerful Precision, which 'works like Point Blank', should only drop by 50 points total instead.

I see no reason whatsoever to assume that Powerful Precision caps at 50% Pierce chance.

If you have 50% Pierce elsewhere, from the Pierce gem for example, then your total Pierce won't drop below 50% - but PP's bonus will go from 100 to 0 still.

That's exactly what we wanted to know.

I just picked up +1 chain on my TS Dead Eye. It is VERY powerful. Its not the original projectiles that chain. Its the projectiles from the arrow "explosions."

There are better options if your going for Drillneck + Pierce, but I am VERY happy with +Chain thus far.
Got the secondary Tornado Shot Projectile on my Helmet today, can someone tell me how strong thisone is?

Subprojectiles: Upon reaching the targeted location, Tornado Shot's projectile explodes and fires three subprojectile arrows in random directions. No target can be hit by more than one subprojectile released in this manner.

Yours now does more than 3 subprojectiles. Needless to say this is super strong. It is huge AoE boost.

Even if you have 0% Pierce from the tree, you will have 100% Pierce from Powerful Precision at point-blank range. PP's bonus diminishes with distance, so getting Pierce elsewhere makes the 100%-Pierce range bigger (and you'll never drop below that 50%).

1:1. Pierce caps at 100% chance, thus the Crit Chance also caps at 100%.

I read your post again and now see what you mean.
I misunderstood you :) Vipermagi is (as usual) right :)
