[3.0] NeverSink's ♣ INDEPTH Tornado&Archer Guide ♣ Beginner friendly ♣ Rapid clear ♣ All bosses

Good day

This is my first post ever on PoE.

I followed the Beginner thread on TS, I like it.

I struggle with DPS. I don't have loots of ex doing nothing.
I invested in gear that might not be suited for this character. But playable.

This is my link to my toon.

Could someone be so kind and have look were to improve setting.

Question how man times do you upgrade your gems?
Some were upgraded which I think was a waste of time.

If you could help out a pensioner in the making.

I don't know how others do it to get images in from there character. Still learning.

@Neurik: when at full frenzy charges, snakebite provides 20% of physical damage as extra poison (chaos) damage delayed over 2s. This is without any chaos damage increase.
You can see this as a pseudo additional "free" support; it can boost your damage quite sensibly if you need it.

Thanks for the reply, I did not know the damage from poison was that much but it is not uncommon for me to run into packs that are already significantly damaged from getting hit by a stray projectile and poisoned far off screen. It seems pretty effective to me so I was just curious if any "grown up" TS rangers were using it or if I should be planning to replace it after hitting 90+.

I am lazy and love the idea of being able to generate Frenzy charges automatically with the boots and they just pair so well with the gloves IMO because I am always at full frenzy charges.

Thanks again.

When you say you have 78k is that with charges and flasks up?

I don't remember why i made these gem choices , trying to figure out the math..

ICD ( 21/20) 80% inc damage
WED 21/20 - 70% inc damage
PTL 21/20 - 40% inc damage ( 10% inc physical damage)
added fire damage- 45% inc damage ( 10% inc fire damage...)
seems like i figured ICD+ PTL might give me more damage....

I seem to be missing quite a bit in my understanding.

I think i misread the guides and assumed with high crit chance i would have the ability to get some cast on crit action going ..... apparently this does not seem possible since i don't want to deviate from TS as main source of dps.

78k is with hatred and herald of ash, but no charges, flask or increased attack speed from blood rage. 116k with taste of hate, blood rage and 3 frenzy charges. 130k if I also use vaal haste. This is of course with the maximum dps setup (TS, GMP, FA, PPAD, PTL WED).

Wow im definitely doing it wrong... What is your chance to crit?

Do not have time to log on right now, but my talents give me 452% crit chance + 286% from gear (you can inspect my character and calculate all everything you want to know :) )

738% total. 100% base.

8,6 base from item x 838% = 72,1% crit chance.
i dont get it , 78k with jut aura's is huge...
I changed my skills to get the bow damage wheel... and its pretty close to the build/your tree but im sitting on 53k with hatred+ herald of ash..
its like a 25K difference is quite a bit

Is the tool tip dps already calculating the crit multi?
Im missing 35crit multi and flat phys on ammy.. is that so huge to make 25k dps o_o?

He's got slightly better gear and 2 more (quite nice) Jewels. Jewels can be an insane dps-boost, if they are nice.
Could someone recommend some upgrades for my guy? Character name is xTyman

I have around 6ex, but haven't upgraded for quite a while.

I really hate trying to upgrade gear, if I take off my belt then I need a ton of strength to keep using a bunch of gems, I guess I could respec a bit and just grab +30 strengths but would rather someone who knows how much to pay for upgrades give me some pointers on what to pay for

I pretty much just want to get to 90 without dieing many more times, and once I'm 90, would like to do Atziri for the first time

I am far from an expert on gearing but to me your "low hanging fruit" is your amulet followed by your belt. Frankenberry has some excellent advice and I have tried to follow his basic guidelines when searching for gear upgrades. Obviously grab the Strength, Int and resistances where you can while adhering to his priorities and with a little patience you should be able to snag upgrades for less than 20 C each piece.

Credit to Frankenberry for the copy and paste below, these are copied and pasted form his prior comments:

"And for concrete advice:
Items to replace:
Amulet, belt, rings,
Amulet: Crit multi > flat phys > crit chance > life > int / str / all attributes > res
Rings: To begin with Res > Life > int / str / all attributes > damage. Later on (your goal) Prio is flat phys > accuracy > life + needed res / attributes.
Belt: Res > HP > elemental damage"

and

Headpiece - Rat's Nest. Keep it.
Amulet - Completely new rare. 0 resistances. flat physical dmg, crit multiplier and hp are top priority. Other priorities should be crit chance and stats (str and int)
Chest - Your chest is decent. Keep it and include it into your gear calculation.
Boots - Get a rare. Priority is high hp, movement speed and as high resistances as possible. High evasion is nice to, but not needed.
Quiver - Get a rare. Crit multiplier, crit chance, high HP and room for attack speed enchant OR keep drillneck but use that pierce gem. Personally I believe drillneck is a huge waste for most tornado setups, but if you have solid dps with a pierce gem then the pierce on projectiles can be nice. This requires a better bow and better dps gear in general. I would argue you are quite far from that goal. I have played a lot bow archer and drillneck has its upsides, but my advice to you: Switch it out. Fast.
Hi, i cant find info, should i ignore chaos resistance?

It can't hurt but there are other priorities so I would not look for it at the expense of other more important affixes (Life, resists, attributes, crit chance, crit multi, attack speed).

If you are able to invest like 15 mirrors into your gear then you can think about caping chaosres, too. ;)
