The snake was a great way to get experience. You should have found a way to keep this particular mechanic in place but with a drastically reduced loot drop. You guys dropped the ball on this. It was a blessing in disguise that just needed tweaking. People had fun building it.

Unless I am misunderstanding they clearly state that room that should destabilize but can't will be reduced to paths - so they still exist, meaning there should still be plenty of monsters for XP, if thats your concern (we know it isn't, really, you want 45 divine temples)

Monsters XP comes from effectiveness which paths doesn't have. So you wouldn't have much XP from temple now.
Not a single person cares about this mechanic. It was only popular because of ''snake'' without snake everyone was skipping it.

Now that it's gone, I doubt anyone care about this especially now that every other mechanic is reworked.

You need to find something else with this mechanic.

Best to speak for yourself.

Glad temple is going core.

Having more options is always good.

Just run what you enjoy and if there is no such thing in PoE maybe a different game?

I still don't understand why simple flat nerf of ground loot droprate won't solve all the temple problems.

Just apply 0.01x modifier to all ground loot quantity, on top of all existing bonuses. And suddenly fully built 77-room temple prints about 1 div average, having ZERO negative impact to game economy.

If you don't like flat multiplier, tie it with number of rooms. So that 10-room temple will have 1/10 of current ground loot, and 77-room temple will have 1/77 of its former glory.

What's wrong with this approach, WHY do we have to burn interesting game mechanics to the ground and not try to tune it down?

The temple wasn't dropping anything at the 0.4 release anyway, and everyone complained there was no point in going there precisely because nothing dropped until they found the snake exploit. If you remove the snake, you'll see that even with the current 0.4 loot drops, you won't get much. Since the snake has been effectively removed, and now doing it with snake is even worse than not doing it, this problem will no longer exist. The temple should be the primary source of unique items and Vaal crafting, like all other endgame activities in the game. Not a broken farm for incredible amounts of currency, experience, and gold.

I think i might not want to run low level Temple. Would there be a button to reset your crystal so it would match your highest level of 1st beacon after resetting hence get highest tier level temple matching your current level?

I have never stated that it shouldn't be a mechanic or should be removed. I said they should do something different with the mechanic so it's appealing like others. Yes this game needs content, yes different content option is of course good and yes you can easily skip and lose nothing. You can make profit from other mechanics that you enjoy and spend your currency to buy vaal temple stuff.

There will be of course some people engage with it, but minimal. The problem with it is taking your time to build a dungeon. This was whatever, like acceptable when it was the main mechanic of the league. Now it's just a side mechanic, why would anyone bother to take their time just to build a dungeon and get a chance to have special currencies or uniques. It's just boring to most people. This is why it was never popular before snake. They probably didnt think much about what to do with it and ship it the way it is. But I almost guarantee you in 1.0 they will make this mechanic more streamlined like others.
