If you can’t keep the servers stable, then at least offer an offline mode.

Yes @ArtCrusade, this one helped a lot to understand the problem. Thank you for that. I also am interested in that things and solutions thats are possible from my side but by no means anything close to a professional.

What you can try is a service such as ExitLag. The elevator pitch goes something like it dynamically analyzes multiple routes to the game servers and selects the most stable and lowest-latency path.

I have personally never used it and only know about it from a content creator I'm friends with based in Australia who plays on SEA servers. He's using it to deal with the latency, but if we can trust their advertising it should work for routing issues as well.

You can as a first step try a regular (free) VPN and see if that does the job. Just to note: a VPN will lock you in one route, and while ExitLag will try several it's not a magic fix and it's a paid service (they do have a free trial). I don't personally endorse it as I have no first-hand experience but if you are fed up and frustrated it's imo worth a shot

Good luck! :D

Thank you, will try that out once problem occurs again. VPN I already tried and have a paid one. I also used pingtest und CFOS Speed to analyze dataloss to make sure the problem is not on my side.

The state of the game over the last three years has become a joke. Players like me spend real money on it, and the least we should be able to expect is working servers. The loot system is already disappointing—especially for people who work a normal 9–5 job and just want to relax and enjoy the game in their limited free time. Instead, every year the experience becomes more frustrating.

We’re not asking for anything crazy. We just want a game that actually works.

i will explain it as simply as possible:

'servers' are fine

to not go into too much details - if POE servers would have been 'unstable', several other services would be as well. POE uses data center resources and they either work 100% fine or everything is on fire

what you see is connectivity issues - in 99% of cases it is the same story - infra is 100% ok or on fire and then EVERYONE and EVERYTHING doesnt work. it is the case you see in mainstream media because it affects millions. DCs have so much redundancy and failsafe mechanic built-in that one or few physical machines actually dying is completely transparent to users

what you mostly experience is one of the following:

- your PC is not coping well with the mayhem on the screen
- you are on wifi, trough 4 walls with 10 devices connected fighting for the bandwitch
- 'last mile' provider is having issues (rain/rodent damage to cables is not that rare)
- rarest and most unlikely - you are suffering bad routing, when your traffic is going from Paris to Berlin in circles trough South Africa. this you can check using WinMTR or any other trace tool. this can in some cases be solved by an email to your provider, but in rare cases is a result of lets say very competetive infra market. you could try VPN but it helping is only a chance. luckily these cases are RARE despite people claiming it happens 'all the time'

my guess most of the 'servers are dying' crowd are using wifi on their 8yo overheating laptops OR are farming 8 Risk scarab uber blight in 3.26 - that makes game die on its own
No, sid. You are assuming everything and prove nothing. One of my IRL friends from Germany went trough the hoops having his connection analysed properly by his ISP. Despite his powerful PC he'd experience more than half of instances he'd open to be riddled with packet loss while others were completely fine.

This is not what you describe and yes, he's not on wifi.

Why do you so readily dismiss people's frustrations with the server situation? It's very much too big to ignore. You're being disrespectful to the affected people. Best you apologise and move on because this take ain't it buddy.

Edit: also you clearly didn't read the recent posts because you wouldn't have said half of what you said if you had. Keep up

If GGG would put the server side game component out there it would mean private servers and modded content pop up overnight. Both would mean many people no longer need to go back to GGG.

So GGG will never make an offline client.

This is my private take. Pun intended, sue me.
POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences.
I petition to return all the fun stuff that was removed or nerfed over the years back into POE1.
