If you can’t keep the servers stable, then at least offer an offline mode.

The state of the game over the last three years has become a joke. Players like me spend real money on it, and the least we should be able to expect is working servers. The loot system is already disappointing—especially for people who work a normal 9–5 job and just want to relax and enjoy the game in their limited free time. Instead, every year the experience becomes more frustrating.

We’re not asking for anything crazy. We just want a game that actually works.

Let each player choose which version of PoE to play:

Servers stability become worse with each year.
This problem has roots from 2017-2018 and so one not yet any solution from GGG trying to fix it.

I can't say myself that i have a lot DC's/Rollbacks this league - but they still happens ocassionaly.

Offline means cheats/hacks/nonstop uncontrollable bots etc. Should not ever happen, or it's just the end of poe. Servers stability should be fixed tho, agreed

I've been around since 2019, and I have not experienced any of these server issues, I don't think offline mode is an answer nor do I think it will ever happen.

Lucky you. But after even GGG stated this to be of highest priority we really should not discuss about the general state of servers excluding the U.S. ones (and even there I saw people complaining).

I think from the last 12 months I had to play like 6 to 7 on U.S. servers because 140+ ping is still way better than the alternative. However it got better lately. Still think there should be an offline mode or a way better solution than right now.

An offline client character would be local and obviously never support merging with any online league. It would simply allow players to enjoy the game. If someone enjoys playing it with all kinds of cheats, that really doesn't affect anyone else. What happens on their computer, stays on their computer.

I mean if your playing an entirely offline-separated-client, then you're not playing your current characters, progression, etc. I don't think anyone wants that.

Please look up similar topics about this. The way PoE is built, you need the server to make decisions for the clients. The server handles calculations and holds all the secrets players are not supposed to know about. Were you to add this offline capability to the client, you'd expose sensitive information to datamining, potentially revealing vulnerabilities in the game that can be harmful.

I understand not everyone here can be tech-savvy, so if you want to learn more about it please google client-server game architecture. There's also some interesting (and somewhat entertaining) videos about the past of League of Legends and the problems they had when a lot of decisions / stats were handled client-side (example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Gy6unxpFjs).

Long story short: what's being asked here will just not happen
The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
Players on decade old hardware, weak hardware, borderline toaster hardware already struggle to keep the game running and that’s with the servers doing half the work for them. Now imagine handing them an offline version where their poor exhausted machines suddenly have to do everything the server normally handles. Those PCs wouldn’t literally burst into flames, but let’s be honest, they’d be fighting for their lives. You’d feel the room heating up, the fans screaming for mercy, and at that point you’re just hoping the thing doesn’t bluescreen every ten minutes from the sheer heat stress. It’s the kind of performance where you start patting the case like “you good, buddy?” even though the answer is obviously no.

And people still somehow think GGG would hand out the entire game for dataminers to tear apart. The whole thing is balanced around trade and an online economy, so making an offline version would mean rebalancing basically the whole game from scratch, which they clearly have zero interest in doing if we look at SSF mode, which absolutely could have gotten its own solo balance but never did. There’s also a reason private PoE servers don’t exist. GGG is extremely protective of their data structures and very careful with what they release because they don’t want anyone poking around in their tech. So the idea of an offline PoE isn’t just unlikely, it’s pure fantasy that keeps getting dragged out even though it was never even close to being on the table.
