It is almost comical how bad the loot is for some while it is insane for others.

This thread is a great case study in how bad human beings are at statistical analysis, and why businesses such as casinos are able to stay in operation in an era where everyone with even average intelligence knows exactly how their games work.

Here's a mental exercise for people who feel like they are actually the victim of unnaturally bad luck:

when's the last time someone was on the news for NOT winning the lottery?

And your post is so great of showing that you completely misunderstood the reason of the post and the meaning of it.

Games like this has hidden systems built in like bad luck protection or certain type of matchmakings to keep people engaged to the game. If you play shooters and you only lose every time you will simply quit and not buy the next game. They will matchmake you occasionally with enemies so you will certainly win. Bad luck protection is kind of like that in some games. A lot of people lose interest because they are just simply never lucky and can't enjoy the game with such a long strike without any big drop so it wouldn't be a bad idea to figure out a system that would reward them somehow.
I spent 10 minutes watching OP's stream because I was curious and wanted to see how bad it is. I was not prepared for that.

You're not getting any relevant loot because you spend 1/20 of your time on killing monsters and 19/20 of your time picking up a 3 stack of transmutes or a rare base that can't even roll anything sellable.

While others with similar playtime and similar clearspeed/build power are playing 20 maps you're bending over for a single legion splinter or 4 augments and are still in the first map.
They get to pull the loot lever 500 times for every time you get to have a single chance at loot. They others aren't more lucky, they're just hundreds of times more efficient.

To make it easier to understand: Imagine you cut away 5c of your current loot per hour and in return you get to run DOUBLE the amount of maps and loot in the same time frame. Does that not clearly sound way, way better?

Adjust your filter and learn the items.

Sidenote: All loot examples were seen in the stream.

lmao WHAT?

First of all, probably most importantly of all, if you're playing a shooter against other human opponents and you find yourself losing every single game, the solution is to get better, not wait for matchmaking to hand you a free unearned victory while you refuse to improve your skills or strategy. It's incomprehensible to me that someone would unironically say that participation trophies are a good thing.

Secondly, at absolutely no point are you entitled to "bad luck protection," whatever that even means. This isn't a gacha game, my man.

You should know that I was about to hit 99 and died on 91% so I decided to grind out the remaining 19% on easy alch and go maps so if you watched that part ofc nothing dropped nor I cared about the loot. Before that pretty much entire level I was farming t16.5 with strongbox strategy. After I leveled up I did some challenges which was not about target farming anything so I didn't care about loot either.

The stream wasn't about efficiently farming. Mostly wanted to hit 99 lv and do some challenges after which I knew were difficult and level up allowed me to die.

You are 8 challenge. Are you even on maps? 2 weeks in? That is basically going through the campaign.

Anyway. How do you know the game don't have anything like that? Nobody would even know if it existed. Maybe things like if you go 500 hours without t0 unique then the moment you hit 500 hours the next mob would drop you a t0 unique or something like that for example. Then it resets. You could not tell if it was bad luck protection or natural drop.

^

We really don't know if GGG have secretly put bad luck protection in the game already, or some form of it. I've had days where I do my first map and get a divine from the first pack of mobs, one league I entered Mao Kun for my atlas completion and literally the first enemy dropped a Hinekora's Lock lmao

Then I go on through atlas progression and in red maps not dropping any divs, and start dropping valdo's puzzle boxes and divines like crazy way later. There's just no way of knowing for sure, and btw I only farm alch&go maps at like 150% quant on average. I don't do crazy strats nor do I ever buy scarabs or measure divs per hour. I just vibe and play the game, and consistently get lucky drops with enough time invested.

If its not in the game yet, then I do agree this game needs SOME form of bad luck protection.
Well streamer Queue is a confirmed thing...
but the real reason you see streamers getting a lot of drops is because they are playing 16 hours a day. And they know what they are doing.

This is such a bullshit. Just because they were lucky and managed to capture an audience and play a lot does not mean they are special. There are tons of people out there that play just as much if not more and possibly even better players they are just not streamers. When I saw clip some of the streamer got a hh and a mageblood from tree he did not play more whatsoever. Was just lucky with the tree turn in. I just want to have some luck. I don't want everything in one day but I have gone multiple leagues without an item drop worth more than like 5 divine. This is unacceptable. I'm done buying everything from chaoses because pretty much all my currency is from exchanging stuffs to chaoses. Nothing from actual big sales.

Been playing PoE for over 10 years, only ever found one mirror back in first day of open beta.

Also just found my first mageblood ever last week this league from the nameless seer.

RNG is RNG.

The trick to being successful in PoE is to run content that gives consistent loot rather than hoping to get a big ticket item.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley

Pretty much yes. I'm farming consistent stuff and that is why i keep saying I'm making my way through the game exchanigng small things to chaoses and then to divines. It is the stable consistent income. The sad thing is that this will not get you builds or items worth hundreds of divines early when it matters unless you are giga lucky with drops. That is what I'm missing. As I said I'm already done with the league probably hitting 40 today or tomorrow depending on how much I just rush boss maps for the quantity challenge. If I liquidate my currency probably I could get a mageblood but now absolutely no point. I will not play much anyway after I hit 40/40 so what is the point. Mageblood would have been amazing a week ago when I was in the midle of farming challenges. Now what I just buy one equip one run one map and quit anyway.
You need big drops early to get somewhere else you will always be behind the curve.

People might got the wrong idea about me or my post and I got it. I'm not trying to complain that the loot is bad. There is loot it is just distributed unevenly. Just not the quality of the loot from mapping that it used to be.
