Annual reminder that XP loss on death is bad design.
" What I learned over the years is that people that say this is exactly the bad players just say this to look good. You act like you never die to lag or server crash or some bullshit overtuned monster combination. Also what the other guys say that just avoid difficult content is exactly why the game sucks. Difficult content to mirror tier characters essentially add NO difficulty but they reap all the rewards while budget solutions sturggle to farm hard stuffs. They just repeatedly die and still drop nothing. Last edited by Ispita#4020 on Nov 13, 2025, 1:22:04 PM

" I've been 100. And i appriciate that it don't come served on a silver tray. |

" I don't think that is true at all. But addressing only to XP lost matter: Many people do die persuing level 100. Sometimes for lag (which is the reason I dont play hardcore), sometimes for flaws in their builds. But no matter the reason, these XP penalty is exactly what give some sense of achievment when level 100 is reached and in my opinion it should stay. Exiles, pffff! Why does everyone think making xp recoverable or faster get back where you been already would make leveling to 100 easy and free? Do any of you commenting grinded to 100 and actually know how long it is even if it was zero xp loss? You would still lose xp just it would not be this tediously punishing. All I'm saying is to revamp the system. If you let's say reach 80% xp on the level is your current max and you die 2-3 times then up until 80% you would get double xp or something so the game would catch you up faster. It would still be lost xp and time but not this awful where you just constantly hard stuck if you die.
Seems like everybody is ok with getting 5 way boosted for zero effort but actually making it better for map grinders who do the hard work a no go? I don't understand any of you. Last edited by Ispita#4020 on Nov 13, 2025, 5:43:20 PM

" Yep exactly, every time I grinded to 100 I had to just do 50x lvl83 Sanctum Tomes. That doesn't take skill, its just monotonous grinding in safe content. Or sometimes I paid a legion 5-way rota a few divines. lvl100 isn't an achievement in SC Trade. |

" I do die, I play hc. i go through around 10 characters a league. So I do die about 10x a league. If you don't count the 3-4 characters i usually have in gauntlet. I've never (lately) died to any bs overtuned monster combination though. Its usually tanking a slam i shouldnt have. Last edited by Lonnie455Rich#2087 on Nov 13, 2025, 6:15:58 PM

" It’s fairly evident that hitting level 100 is an actual achievement, if it weren’t, we wouldn’t see the same familiar names lamenting the death penalty every league after getting repeatedly skill-checked and farmed by pixel mobs. And if Sanctum were truly that effortless, we’d see far fewer complaints about XP loss, because everyone, and I do mean everyone, would simply funnel their way to 100 through Sanctum. Sanctum can give solid XP, but only if you’re able to blitz through multiple full runs per day. For players who already struggle with damage or consistency and can’t chain Sanctums efficiently, the time investment just doesn’t translate into meaningful XP gains. So the idea that Sanctum is some universal level-100 shortcut is, frankly, wishful thinking. Let’s be honest, chain-running juiced, 8 mod maps has always been one of the most efficient, and also profitable, strategies for sprinting to 100. Five-ways, while still technically around, were heavily gutted, and deservedly so, leaving them viable mostly for players who can’t handle even basic alch-and-go mapping without face-planting. And realistically, those folks don’t need level 100 anyway, level 90, 95 or 100? it doesn’t change much for them. Given what they’ve done with Breach, beautiful rework by the way, it’s only a matter of time before Legion gets the same treatment and the gates to 5ways quietly close for good. This league already vaporized breachstone carries, so it seems GGG is moving in the right direction~ Windows 11, 9950X3D, RTX 4090, 96GB DDR5, 14,100 MB/s SSD, 15,360x2160p @240Hz Ultra 4K Gaming & Workspace Powerhouse

" It's kinda weird thing to say. I would say that it can be achievement if you play some janky build and you have 200 hours in the game. edit/ wrong quote name, sorry On Probation Any% Last edited by Dxt44#4050 on Nov 14, 2025, 4:47:10 AM
