GGG, please reconsider Risk Scarab limit

"
Cartography Scarab of Risk now has a limit of 1 (previously 5)
This upcoming nerf is such a bummer. What's the point of building very strong mapping characters when we're hitting the ceiling so much faster now?

This is a massive L for solo players and high-end endgame maps. Disappointing.

Mixed feelings on this one.

I think it was dumb that Risk's were the BiS scarab for multiple strats. I would have liked to see them change more scarab mechanics though if they were going increase the limit on Risk so drastically.

It feels like they took all the old juice away, without creating new ones.

I am however stoked to not be locked into playing a strat that produces maps that continually make me want to logoff (like the 4 maps in a row last night that added 3/10 second no damage)

I do think they could have made it 2 risk scarabs. And they should have buffed/reworked glittering scarab, divination card scarabs, wisp scarab, etc.

or even better, completely rework risk.

Make it a super rare scarab, make the limit 1, make it add 4 random modifiers.

I just finished reading the patch notes and it looks like most of the previous juice is gone or nerfed. Has fomo won? Or is the new Breach the real juice going forward? Time will tell.

I'll miss Risk and Edifice farming though.
yea, the juice seems really missing.

Breach seems strong for sure. Thinking im going to combine with harbi or strong box early, into prob T17 containment strongbox later

Yeah, juicing seems dead. They reached parity between casuals and blasters by removing the juice and adding in "participation award" mechanics like Settlers and now this Genesis Tree.

It's a sad state of affairs.

Everyone, it's time to get your boots on and get out in those maps to get your Genesis Tree blood or whatever. Maybe it will give you a fun item or something, I guess.
There's always a new juice meta, I have a feeling breach/beyond and the pack size increases on the tree will mitigate the risk nerf. That along with the other content we haven't seen yet.

Pretty sad state of things, but much like with Settlers, the tree will reward those who actually engage with the game. Players running suboptimal builds and clearing only 3 maps per hour won’t interact much with the new league mechanic, just as they already don’t with Settlers due to lack of gold. I’m not sure this is the best direction for GGG in terms of reward design, but at least it keeps engagement somewhat meaningful and fair, those who play the content earn the rewards, while non-participants or low engagement don’t get total free handouts.

I can already picture the same familiar faces lining up with the usual “it’s not rewarding, it’s bad” takes, right up until the more engaged players start showcasing their gains and the FOMO begins to boil over again.

Nah, I think putting a cap on the juice is a good thing. Players who aren't running these strategies aren't going to be screwed over by the market being oversaturated with loot.

If you juice the map for challenge, ask GGG to nerf your build and lower the ceiling rather than raising the floor.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!
