(Mercs going core confirmed!)Mercenaries need to go core!

Obviously GGG will rebalance the mechanic before it goes core. No one said or expected otherwise. However, what counts is that they go core. Hireables are such a iconic staple of the genre - they'll be awesome regardless of additional power.
You can enjoy a feature without the powercreep and inevitable fomo that some individuals might be struggling with, you know? Overall a huge W for the game going forward. |

"You don't know about any of this, let's not jump to assumptions. Your recent track record doesn't exactly instill confidence when you're making such claims. I trust GGG knows what they're doing. Let them cook. :) Last edited by Celestriad#0304 on Oct 15, 2025, 9:51:34 AM

Not showing up on every map is reasonably known. That's how it's always worked and there's no reason to think that would change. Appearing on every map has always been the defining characteristic of the active league.
I agree that it'll either be OP and mandatory, or barely usable/ only used for niche builds. Every league that's every gone core has been nerfed to oblivion. With all that evidence we have negative reasons to assume it won't be nerfed here. If it wasn't going to be nerfed, there wouldn't have been a reason to pull it out of this next league. Either way, pretty much the opposite of excited about it personally. |

"That's not true and respectfully I stopped reading after such a confidently wrong statement. |

all they said is that it is not going core - this is fact
they might go core in the past - this is a speculation, intention is not a decision stick to the facts. they were so hilariously broken power-wise and exceptionally uneven when comes to that power that there was no chance it will go core in the future 2-3 leagues (recently leagues take like half a year on average) maybe, but most likely nerfed to like 5% of current power (like: they can wear Heist gear that they lose if they die :)) what i do want to know - do we get their inventory screen for AG, because that brings no power, just joy, and that should get implemented immediately |

" +100 PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

" Basically you'll encounter your desired Merc by just playing the game. Nothing will truly change aside of some extra sprinkles of fomo. " Do you already feel the fear of missing out on something or what kind of backlash are we referring to? Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun. " Lol I'm gonna ignore mercs just like I did in 3.26. People already found it a chore to look for a specific infamous merc with specific support gems on it, if they go core and they don't appear every map while being nerfed that chore will be amplified by 1000x. I'm just fine without mercs, I can just stack rarity with Inc Rarity Support+Gold Flask and still melt bosses. What I'm worried about is people playing other builds that used to rely on mercs. |

"Okay. Thanks for letting us know. "Who are these "people" you're referring to? You mean a small minority on the forums? Reddit perhaps? Because generally Mercs were very well received. GGG would know, they have the metrics, which is why they're going core. "You never specced into an mechanic using your Atlas Skill Tree before, have you? Even if they only appear every 3 to 4 maps, I don't see the issue. Long term grinds and goals are healthy and good for the game - not everyone buys challenges in week 1 and then quits the league, you know? " "This you? People utilizing Mercs and relying on them for certain builds doesn't affect you. It's time to accept that, even more so now that they'll become part of the core game. Move on Toforto, move on - your words! :) Last edited by Celestriad#0304 on Oct 15, 2025, 4:05:16 PM

" It's already confirmed that they go core at some point. There's gonna be a good chance that they introduce scarabs along with atlas passive nodes, just the same way they did with Kingsmarch. In this regard things won't be nearly as bad as you think. Of course still gonna be grindy to a degree, but since you hard skip mercs non of that should really concern you at all. :) " Define "stacking" cause I highly doubt your build is in the position to sacrifice both damage and survivability for that. It's already holding up on very thin ice without all of that. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
