UPDATE
I decided to just speed run t14 white maps, leave your merc in the hideout and no eater/searing influence. Perhaps GGG turned up my spawn rate, but i have found 3 tears in 10 maps. If you're trying to complete the challenge, I'd suggest you go this route.
Again, white t14s, no merc, no eater/searing influence. Just rush through the maps looking for the tear icon. I DO have memory nodes on the atlas so that I can block 2/3 bosses.
This is just a suggestion, but I haven't found tears this quickly in 2 weeks.
thanks for trying, its insane to see so many people having this issue and no reply from GGG whatsoever.

I did this with T16 white and only memory nodes in the atlas tree. Only running to find the tear icon.
It's absurd but hey, i can now move forward with my challenges.
