lol... Why call it crafting? It's just gambling.

This is why I just buy the already crafted items and never bother with trying it myself. If I tried to craft anything complicated I know I'd just be throwing divines away lmaao

" You never know, it is listed as an ARPG, and the crafting is non-RNG deterministic. You grind your materials, you get what you aimed for and call it a day. This might quietly hit the sweet spot for some people, too, since you can crank the complexity and difficulty up or down with mods and setting… or, sand it down entirely until it’s basically effortless baby soft core mode. " Could you define complicated for us? As long as you’re not going into mirror tier or some double influenced item crafting, it’s not really that bad. Basic crafting still has some RNG, but it’s mostly pretty deterministic and straight forward. You just grind or buy the materials, do some clicks and get your desired outcome often way below market price. There’s still a bit of gambling to it, sure, just not as much as people make it out to be. Hence people love profit crafting, cause it's easy profit. It’s mostly just a matter of learning the system and getting familiar with the many options the game throws at you. Crafting is kinda like putting a strong and good character together, it’s just learning the basics, understanding how things work, and putting them to use. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

It's a craft to get exact mods you want on an item, it doesn't have to be guaranteed.
Full time standard player.
Also full timer PoE supporter, from where I have started to play it. |

" I mean isn't this exactly as harvest was? sure we only had primary 4 resources but setting up the garden took a lot of time, as well as farming the seeds and build them. the items you could build xD well it was fun and harvest had an insane retention if i remember it right. Still i also like the half gamble system of now. With a little knowledge you can build good shit. the only thing i would like to have is some autospam/stop for alteration/aug blue shit. clicking 2k times on an item and wait for the highlight in the regex filter is annoying as hell.... " Crafting implies I have 100% control over the outcomes though. PoE "crafting" isn't that, its just slapping a bunch of orbs on an item and hoping for the best. I have a better chance of making a profit by just using harvest card gamba on House of Mirrors lul Lifelong NEET, loud and proud about it.

If gambling is considered "crafting", then trading is considered crafting.
The only difference between the two is that I get exactly what I want without blowing a ton of currency for a chance at it. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! The others found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on juice. I am not so foolish. |

" The market usually says you do not get exactly what you want. Even for meta cuck builds, good 6 mod items are often simply not available on trade or they cost a fortune. Crafting is the way to go. It can end badly but it doesn't usually. You save so many divines with crafting on average. |

" I believe the league after Harvest had good player numbers, but most people did not enjoy the whole gardening system at all. It was the same with Necropolis and the grave crafting, even though it was basically an item editor with how broken it was. That kinda shows that having a literal instant gratification item editor is not what actually keeps people excited and engaged with the game. What does is the regular crafting system, with some gambling and uncertainty involved. " But you do have full control over the outcomes and what you are aiming for. It is not like you click a currency orb and it randomly does something else instead of what it says. It is not like you click a specific essence and do not get the essence mod you chose, or use a scour orb and have it suddenly act like a Vaal orb and ruin your item. In that sense, it really is crafting, since you decide what you are doing. But even ingame it is like any other crafting skill. If you do not understand how to use the many different crafting currencies and how they work, you are not really in control. You would not expect to cook a bloody good perfect medium rare steak without knowing how to use the method you are cooking it with, and it is the same here. Crafting in this game, in any game really, comes down to knowledge and knowing how to use the many tools available. " pretty much this Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

" The fact it's a non-zero percent chance of losing all of your currency to get what you want makes it gambling. And if that's going to be the case, I would rather pay the convenience fee to guarantee I get what I "craft" via trading. :P The last time we actually had a true crafting system was Harvest before GGG gutted it to the point it's only good for div card duping which is also gambling. " Don't you think you're being needlessly pedantic right now? That's like saying that every single football match is gambling because the teams don't know in advance who is going to win. |
