How to play a game which lives from trades and people who won´t trade?
" Oh I know enough to speedrun 40 challenges in week 1 of the league, and get to maps on day 1 in about 10 hours. Me complaining about oneshots has nothing to do with the topic, I play a glass cannon build. Also, no you don't "only need trade for t0 uniques". If I couldn't just buy for example the alva gloves with high resist suffixes for my build, it would take me an insane amount of time to farm those myself from Alva temples, and I think alva is boring content so ofc I'll just pay 5 divs for those gloves on leaguestart. And literally every unique a build wants is also most of the time gimmicky to farm and won't just drop for you in white maps. The progression would feel so horrible if I couldn't just buy my Anathema,Heatshiver,Annihilating Light,Soul Mantle(either as a 6-link or buying tainted fusings to 6-link one),Self-Flagellation,Dying Sun,Rain of Splinters. Oh and ofc my legion jewel with the correct keystone. And rare jewels with double res all res % life on them to cap my res. And my 20 tattoos for curse reduction cap. Must I go on? If I was playing ssf it would be a complete slog and it would take me probably months to get those items lol, why would I ever do that. Trade makes the game actually fun to play, it's just that trading with people atm is not fun, because you have to spam whisper 50 of them to get 1 response, or like 4 of them invite you at the same time and you have to only accept 1.
I feel like we are missing a big point here. People (incl. me) hate trading because a lot of buyers are serious buttholes! About 50% of all buyers make you leave your map just to disband the party and never talk to you again. So every time someone wants to buy something it is probably just a waste of time. That's why I for example don't sell anything below a certain value. I'd rather vendor it than having my time wasted by some buttholes. It helps a little to put those ppl all on your ignore list but still a lot of them out there.

" Completely agree. SSF is perfect for learning the game and make use of every mechanic it provides. That is ultimately the problem of OP, he's lacking knowledge. His problem isn't trade, he just thinks it is. The sad part is tho, I don't think he wants to learn, he just wanted to vent.
" SSF has nothing to do with trade. They're 2 completely seperate gamemodes, I don't get why people keep connecting them like this and saying "just play ssf" when anyone says trade sucks. That's just ignoring the actual problem, which is people not responding on the trade site. But don't you worry, we won't have that problem for long. Faustus will be a full-on auction house with all items available on him after a few leagues max. That's their plan with him. Then the game will be even more fun.
" I don't interact with u and u clearly don't understand what I wrote. Please don't quote me anymore, thanks.
" Yep, or I invite them and they never accept because they were spamming 100 other people since nobody responds on this trade website, so I simply wasn't fast enough. This thread is about trade, not ssf so dunno why people are going straight to that every time anyone complains about trading. The whole experience of the trade site is designed to make you spam whisper people, and then the unlucky ones that didn't invite you first just don't get to sell their item. Even the bulk section takes ages to buy anything because of pricefixers, afk-ers etc. etc. Faustus at least fixed some of that, now I can actually sell my fossils, essences, scarabs and make way more currency way more easily, I was always too lazy to sell anything in bulk before except for random fusings and alterations because I didn't wanna waste hours trading for 200 chaos kek They said in the reveal livestream for settlers that they want to add unique items to Faustus later on, so I'm sure he'll get that and probably other stuff that he doesn't have atm like sanctum tomes, maps and so on. It's probably gonna take some time though.
" i think this isnt just saying trade sucks, ultimately it is saying that the game is too hard and then presuming the only solution is easier/cheaper trade. |

" Well there's more to it than that. I think I hit all the points in my earlier posts: 1) Unable to progress build due to skill 2) Unable to interact effectively with the market 3) Unable to craft basic gear #1 (and #3) could certainly be "fixed" by playing SSF. But that is irrelevant....the OP never once said he was interested in that. Quite the opposite, he WANTS to interact with the market. So all these posts saying "Just play SSF" are deliberately ignoring the OPs wishes. #2 requires the understanding that prices go up over time, items listed for a long time are likely not active trades, you need to SELL things in order to make currency to BUY more expensive things. OP seems to want or expect things to drop perfectly for his build. And that is where it ends. It's either drop or buy, no in between. What he needs to learn is the "in between": cheap powerful crafting, selling items, buying cheaper items that can then be tweaked to be a heck of a lot stronger. He also seems to think that items are priced high because there is some "issue" with the market itself which is just a totally incorrect understanding of trade and prices. But to continue to tell him "Play SSF"....you all KNOW that is being deliberately unhelpful to the OP. Last edited by mefistozxz on Sep 17, 2024, 6:05:27 PM

" Exactly, thank you for pointing all those things out.
It is not being deliberately unhelpful. You cannot learn this game in sc trade properly. There is no incentive to learn anything outside of increasing your divines/hr. You can literally make a build with 3k ehp with 300m dps and farm mirrors with it.
And other guy, you're talking about ssf causing you to have to play the game for months. Isn't that the point of the game. In sctrade people will play 20 hrs a day for a week and complete all challenges and all their goals then come on the forums and say the game is boring. My point is that if you think this entire game is based around trade then playing ssf will teach you how to farm your own stuff. Whenever you farm your own stuff you don't have to trade for them. Therefore trade issues gone. Furthermore if trade is frustrating you this bad. Playing a game mode that completely deletes that from your experience could be the key to your happiness. |
