How to play a game which lives from trades and people who won´t trade?
I don´t understand the trading in poe...
I have asked many people to trade their items to me, but no one is answering in the time I´m online. Also I have many items I could sell, but I have no time to be online all day long. It seems like the endgame is just a game of waiting. I can´t do any endgame-content, because I´m too weak, I have items from leveling that´s all, no items dropped are better than those. I have nearly no currency to upgrade my stuff, because nearly nothing is dropping... And then the trading items are much too expensive. I hope poe2 will do better, I have played the game over 1500 hours and paid over 300$ since it has been released on steam, but it got harder and harder in the last 3 years... It´s no more fun at the current state, feels more like an idle game ^^ Last bumped on Sep 18, 2024, 12:36:59 AM

Currency exchange should now be your friend. No need for 20 wispers tobuild up some currency. Find a farming strategy you like that will drop an exchangeable stackable currency item and start building up tour chaos balance. Once up to enough to get an upgrade item, find an upgrade and whisper,no respose in a minute then move on to the next seller.

I have to ask...are you filtering trade requests so that it only shows items that were recently added (like in the last day at MOST)?
I have never really had a problem with people answering trades. Especially when it comes to actual items. But the very first filter I put on is "within the last hour" or "within the last 3 hours". Currencies can take a few tries, but even then I land someone pretty fast. In general though, you skip the first 10 offers (*at least) if you aren't filtering your search at all. You need to see it from their perspective: many players have dump tabs of 100s or even 1000s of items up for sale that they....no longer plan to sell because they were actually listed weeks ago when they needed the quick currency. It's not worth their time to use a portal, find the item, wait for the player to come to the ho, do the trade, disband the party, and then go back into the map...only for that process to be repeated. This is what ends up happening if the trade is below a certain threshold that makes it worth it for them. It's also a bad design in the game that old trades don't simply deactivate after a certain amount of time. I personally feel like a listing should last no longer than a week, especially since the value of ITEM items fluctuates wildly in the span of a week Regarding your personal lack of currency to buy anything: this game is meant to be a grind. You are at the grind stage. But also, with all those hours in the game, you should have been paying attention to what you personally have needed to buy (and what the costs were) for your various builds, so that you know what you can sell. Learning how to use the market is just as important as learning how to build a character. Perhaps even MORE important as you are approaching endgame content. Even if you drop DIAMONDS, you make nothing if you don't know what or how to sell. Just to name one extremely overlooked strategy: picking up and rolling every flask you see can net you HUGE profits. Flasks are always in-demand, they are often overlooked drops, and can be quite valuable with minimal investment. When was the last time you picked up a life or mana flask just to throw an alt at it and see what happens? Last edited by mefistozxz on Sep 16, 2024, 4:34:07 PM

" Yes, but the cheapest were mostly added some weeks ago and newer ones are mostly too expensive or just not available... I have 9 chaos from leveling and since the endgame started I found no other one in the 10 maps I did. But today I need 100s of chaos to get the needed gear... Some years ago it was possible to get the needed gear with a lot less amount of currency ^^ Hopefully poe2 drops the gear I need and not just scrap or gives us a real marketplace, which even works offline for working people and not the current noobie one. |

In that situation and with limited possibilities just go do some heist contracts if you have some chance orbs/alchs(buy some on the currency exchange with your 9 chaos if you don't. It will pay off). There you can pick up some chaos and jewelery to do the chaos recipe and if you get the hang of it you will have ~200+ chaos in no time...

Honestly, easy money at this point in the league is probably making temples. Other ways to farm is to use 1c scarabs and stack them with ritual, for example divination scarabs + rituals should drop ~ 30 to 100 stacked decks, that could easily net you 30c - 100c per map. Just needs the right sort of plan to farm currency in this game

Is there a way available to play the game in v2.4?
I think my frostbolt totems are just patched to death... I stop now playing, it doesn´t make any sense for me when nothing works. Hopefully poe2 is much better than this buggy league... " I would, but there´s no way to go there, I have over 30 contracts but even the heist locker isn´t available in my hideout... Last edited by Buddy666xx on Sep 16, 2024, 6:21:00 PM

" I'm sorry, but if u've put in more than a 1000 hours into PoE, u shouldn't need to buy gear after the campaign. There are so many ways to get gear and improve ur character without the need to buy anything. Just focus on those league mechanics like Expedition. Buying gear when reaching a certain wall is ok, but white maps shouldn't be that.
" POE is a game about aquiring alot knowledge and you clearly show, that you didnt spend enough time to aquire knowledge. Everything gets alot easier with more knowledge. Choice of build, knowledge of trading ( how to buy cheap items ) and 10-20 times "2 chaos recipe" and alot other things and you will have alot less problems.
" Well yea that's the point dude. Those items that were listed 3 weeks ago may have been worth what they are listed at.....3 weeks ago. That is no longer true. You can immediately write those off as people who won't answer you. They are inactive trades. "Some years ago it was possible".......some years ago there were: far less mods on gear, far less content to tackle, far easier upper limits on the game, and just overall far less power. Obviously things change over time. Also.....it STILL wasn't really possible to get "endgame gear" without trade even back then. Your memory is not giving you the true information. There was still gear that required 100s of exalts, mirrors, extended grind, market play, to get. Even in 2013/2014, when a "mirror-tier" piece of gear consisted of tri-resist + life only, it cost a ton of exalts per item which dropped at a lower rate than they drop now. Nowadays, that same item is going to be a few chaos. "PoE 2 drops the gear I need, or a real marketplace": sorry.....it won't. And if you don't know how to use the marketplace in PoE 1, you aren't going to do any better in PoE 2. What constitutes a "proper" marketplace to you? Because it certainly won't make items any cheaper lol. You know the game "lives on trade", because you said as much in the title and your post....but for whatever reason you seem unwilling to use it to gain wealth for yourself? You list that you dropped 9c, have you sold ANY items? Knowing that the game lives on trade? Or are you only looking to buy items? Trade means buying AND selling my friend. No exaggeration....I can go into the game right now, go into my flask tab, take 10 alt orbs and and 1 or 2 instilling orbs, and probably make a flask that I can sell for 10+ chaos orbs. Doubling what you have after the entire campaign of the game. Here's a helpful hint: look for fractured mods. You can get a decent t2 or t1 needed mod for 1c. Then, buy an essence for 1c. Put the two together and you now have a piece of gear with at least 2 high-tier mods for your build. Then you can likely craft a 3rd onto it using the crafting bench. Looking for that SAME piece of gear with now 3 desired mods is going to cost you significantly higher to buy outright, mostly because they tend to have a 4/5/6th mod that doesn't pertain to you but WILL pertain to others. An entire set of gear crafted and bought this way will cost you under 25c total, and get you through t16 maps and likely even semi-juiced red maps.
