Shipment is a joke for casual players
So I spent 8 hours yesterday hard grinding for my first big shipment. I have a tier 8 crew I sent 5k bars of each and 8-12k of each grain and 370k dust. My first shipment over 5m. For some this does not seem like a ton or it is very small. But, allow me to explain I'm still learning the game this is my first league and I cant just blaze through things quite yet to make mats quicker.
My entire shipment 1 hour into its voyage returns a message informing me the entire shipment of 5m was completely lost. So explain to me why spending 8 hours farming mats and mines all day long I'm then served the biggest gamble I've had to spend without knowing I'm gambling when I have a full tier 8 crew. For casual players this risk just at times is not worth the effort it robs you of. This mechanic is horrible my town isn't even fully upgraded yet most is but I'm not end game yet when trying to get to end game to gain a little edge on some loot for my 8 hours of farm efforts is then just throw in the trash. Thanks for that? I guess.... Last bumped on Sep 16, 2024, 7:30:52 PM

I mean what did the risk bar say?
Because 5M value with only level 8 crew and a not-fully-upgraded town sounds to me like you could have easily had well beyond 50% chance of "unforeseen outcomes." |

"I'm new at the game, no clue what Iam doing, 8 hours (what?) farming materials for 5M shipment, risk at 80%?What is that?Anyways lets send the shipment and then complain that the mechanic is bad and it is totally not my fault"

Did you look at the risk bar before you sent it out? If its not 0 you are sending to much stuff for your level of sailors.

Just send shipments without risk. Not only will nothing bad happen except the occasional loss of a sailor, but you also have a higher chance to get a divine overall from the amount of grain. Don't send 10k each grain send 10* 1k each grain problem solved. Of course saving for a big shipment is more fun, but if you are not there yet with lvl 9-10 farmers and 6* lvl 10 sailors you might aswell do the smallball thingy and get a divine every so often.

Excuse me, but what did you expect from a 5mil shipment? A mirror shard? Do the 50 mil shipments and hope for the best. Also, get yourself lvl 10 sailors - it's not that hard.

"Can't be bothered to read any UI or look into a mechanic before using it" doesn't qualify you as a "casual" player. The game punishes your lack of effort. As it should.
The risk mechanic is neither obscure nor hidden, it was explained in pre-league videos several times, it was explained in game, there are like 50 different threads on reddit and forums about it and youtube is filled with videos about the shipment mechs and different strategies. If all that fails, you have a big red bar next to your shipment. Everything in this game is a "joke" to players who can't be bothered to read stuff. If you had bothered, you'd at least know that you need level X sailors for big shipments. Last edited by Felix44 on Aug 27, 2024, 6:39:28 AM

" I think its not really fair to say that to anyone. Actually getting your town to a point where you can fill it with level 10s let alone have the disposable gold to roll for t10s is already the mark of someone who is absurdly hardcore. So at best you are preaching to a quire. At worst you are talking down to someone who very clearly lacks the resources you do. its like saying "just get a million dollars and you will be fine" to a person dying of starvation in Ethiopia. " absolutely agree, the amount of elitist response bullshit in many of the reactions is absolutely stupid.. The amount of gold or the luck you need to get a town full of 10's is a lot, and requires a lot of t17 grinding or very specific scarab grinding which for some people is a not achievable or for some people just not enjoyable. |
