3.10.2 Patch with Beta of Vulkan Renderer

I have 5700XT. After enabling the Vulcan option, the dark screen followed by the game turned off. After the second attempt, the entire graphics card has turned off. I heard the game sound but the monitor went to sleep. I had to restart the entire computer hard. I haven't tried for the third time. I will see after updating the drivers. ;-)
This is a very good update to the Game Engine of Path of Exile. I am now very hopeful that the optimizations overtime to the Vulkan API will make the graphics card perform substantially better.

Q:

Vulcan imo was first pushed by AMD afaik, do NVidia cards meanwhile have benefits on this lowlevel API as well?

I mean like 1070ti, not the newest one ( the newest imo do indeed ).

T4i :)

Yes, they do.

In Doom 2k16 where you could select the rendering I gained a good 50 extra fps on a 1060gtx 6gb.

It depends really on the engine and game.

Here I am seeing that my fps gains are, well, nothing really. Think I might be like 10-20fps less (used to be 100-120 in my hideout, now 80-90fps)

Gonna do some more tests going from one renderer to the other to properly check, but yeah depends on the engine in each game. Would like to see if fps wise its maybe less but overall its more stable.

Nvidia definitely gets better performance from it though just like AMD.

Doom Eternal btw now is only Vulkan, and runs like crazy.

edit: (in fact, there have been some Nvidia cards that get more performance boosts on them from Vulkan than even ATI. Think the 1050Ti was such a case depending on the game.)

edit2: did I say ATI? man, blast from the past. Well, you get what I mean, same company anyway AMD bought ATI and went from cpus' only to gpus as well.

It works better, thank you!
Tested it in my rig and the biggest gain I noticed is that enabling Shadows + Global Illumination has now decreased FPS penalty when using Vulkan.

FPS is now smooth and stable with Delirium and Legion encounters coimpared before. Game stabilize at 107FPS on default settings with Shadows+GI enabled.

Specs: Ryzen 5 1600, 16GB RAM, 240GB SSD, GTX 1070, 144hz monitor

Same for me. Tried three times
That's a news!
I know it was not meant to be for Linux but... damn, it finally works. Just tested and it's stable.
Still low while team playing (4 players) but at least I have predictable 5-7 FPS :)
Can't wait for further improvements with Vulkan, and maybe some Linux supporter pack or pet which I would glad to purchase!
Hey! I tried doing this but it seems like the game wont find Vulkan as a renderer for me. im in the login screen too when trying to change it. . I closed both the game and the files after changing it in the config and even restarted my pc but nothing has changed. I did get the update I think on steam but still I cant use Vulkan? Am i doing something wrong maybe?
