[3.9] ICE NOVA GUARDIAN. INSANE DPS. INSANE DEFENSE. BUILD OF THE LEAGUE.

How are people using frost-bolt(FB) and ice-nova(IN) together? If I use IN the spell-echo locks me from using FB. Using FB first it seems like my IN are hit and miss with the projectiles. I'm afraid to use faster-projectiles because of this and have been using slower-projectiles for everything. Great damage, but mapping is obviously taking a longer time.

Character is Vanz if anyone wants to look. My I know my gear is booty, but I'm working on it.

Use frostbolt then cast ice nova on top of it.

Thanks for sharing this build. I haven't really played anything like it in a long time.
I went head-first and leveled to 72 and almost everything I have putting the gear together.

I couldn't reserve Clarity until level 79.
I didn't go the HH route to start, resistances seemed hard to get with less items online.

I don't know if I did the best passive allocation to start out, but it doesnt make a difference once you get the gear and gem levels. It will only get better right?

Simple fix use slower projectiles instead of faster casting (1 white shavs needed) just get 6 white dual corrupted or just use vorici in research on it and dont use frozen trail vs bosses. Remember the slower your frostbolt the more damage u deal.

1.Dont use inc aoe, use conc effect on bosses if you lack dps
2. you dont have Crusader passive, anoint it in you amulet (2 golden 1 clear)
3. use slower Projectiles instead of faster casting
4. You miss Bottled Faith Flask, ur diamond flask is normal rarity ...
5. Buy Awaken Cold Penetration it costs 60c or so
6. Drop Healthy mind, get Heart of Ice via Thread of Hope (Read my last posts)
7. Get some juicy crit jewels, cold crit spell crit global crit ele crit w/e combined with cast speed.
8. Drop that Mana flask you dont need it... use a onslaught flask


Lots of work you got there to do, very bad optimized.

What can I upgrade? lol. I'm wondering if elusive/tailwind boots are worth getting.

Any chance of 2-3 leveling trees added to the guide?

Hey again all,
After making and rolling with a COC ice nova assassin for a while I was really surprised about the conclusions I came too with the mapping speed of this build. I think we all know the defense and damage of this build is just comical but it seemed but this build actaully maps pretty damn fast too. For reference my version of this build is on page 22 written up in what i am sure is a painful level of detail.

What i found after mapwatching 50 maps on each this and my COC ice nova assasin (on my account if you want to look at it) was this build is mapping pretty even in speed.

I ran 25 promenades and 25 academys each red 14+s each awakener 8 on both builds. Rolls i made sure it was not reflect and cannot regen mana and ran everything else vaaling the prominades.

Promenade: Assassin averaged 2:09 Mana guardian 2:22.
Academy: Assassin averaged 3:52 Mana guardian 3:55.

I also did not consider the types of wide open maps with this build is going to have a big advantage in aoe coverage like Dunes, summit, castle ruins.

A couple points i think really keep the speed of atleast my version of mana guardian up:

-I went all out building cast speed on my guardian (see pg 22).
-Alot of that cast speed also came with attack speed and I weapon swap to whirling blades on two 30% fidelitas spikes for back tracking or long between pack spots.
-Faster proj is huge for getting your coverage of one ice nova cast spread out. Being about to clear t16 awakener 8 trash with one cast of ice nova with frost bolt with faster proj is critical to how fast I can map on this build i feel.
-I kill all bosses as metamorphs as they are super worth it so single target really is part of your map clear since all maps now have a boss and a metamorph.

TLDR: While this build is not full meme "Anything slower than 8 second burial chambers is unacceptable" levels of clear speed it is definitely not slow. Atleast how my build feels it seems comfortably in that tier of fast mapping builds that are the tier below the all out i dont even look at whats happening on my screen and just run HH mapping builds.

If a few leveling trees aren't possible would anybody who has leveled the build be able to suggest what major nodes to head for and what order while leveling?
