[3.9] Physical Conversion Bowyer | Wander [TS/LA/IS + Barrage] [KB + Power Siphon] [All Content]
Hey there,
Just a couple of words to give you my two cents about this league. I played ele wander quite a few times, and i'm having a BLAST playing your build. It really feel smooth, and the transition was so fun. Going to maps with no stuff, few health saving to get my wander items was really a good time. Now that i switched, farming t3 - t4 (lvl 80 atm) feels really confortable, even rippy metamorphs (and i still have low life). I saw someone talking about going es once you save quite some money to be tankier and able to farm those super late game new steroid boosted bosses and i must say i'm interested since i loved my only CI build. Do you have any pastebin for that es ele dex stacking wander ? Cheers, and thank you a LOT for that build. |

What was the optimal oil enchant for rings?

" Woops I think I accidentally deleted that section. The best anointment is any for glacial cages. The 10% incr damage taken is the best but very expensive. The others work as well such as reduced cooldown rate. You basically use only this tower for all Blights even for those portals invulnerable to cold towers b/c the cages trap them, and your KB deals massive DPS for some reason like the old Frost Wall KB mechanic. I've been able to down Blight bosses trapped in cages using just KB, and it was faster than barraging. " Thanks for the feedback; this seems to be very similar to what my league playtester reported. Yeah obscurantis was the first option I tried on a very very early draft of POB. After more testing I think Starkonja will be better for sure. Seems build will continue to somewhat struggle with the very rippy metamorphs. Every league the mechanics are super overtuned for any ~5.5k life build, so it'll probably boil down to kiting and having enough DPS to not over-extend the fights. I agree with your comment on int stacking. I've been theorycrafting a bit with int stacking wanders. Might try it out in league later on. It's hard to tell how difficult the fight will be once we know more about the mechanics. The only run my playtester did with this build he brought Awakener down to 50% life on his first portal, but then died 5 times to those large black vortex things. I think no one expected this build to be able to do Uber Elder when it first came out but now it's relatively easy. Adjustments will probably be necessary to mitigate the fire (and physical?) damage from the boss. I think the bow build will stand a better chance mainly b/c it probably has enough DPS to almost insta phase the boss and Voidfletcher allows him to kite around more instead of trying to facetank. We'll see. I doubt either this bow or wand build will be able to consistently do Awakener though without a good amount of practice, which is the main problem b/c you spawn him like once per 3 hours and have only 6 ports to complete it. " Hi, just a heads up. I haven't updated the bow build yet, so a lot of the stuff is outdated. The most up-to-date version is in the POB link under "3.9 Preliminary Guide". I looked at all the bow skills in combination with Barrage Support, and it seems Barrage Skill is still by far the best option for single target DPS. The only other promising one was explosive arrow but that doesn't really work for this build. Galvanic arrow will be pretty bad for single target. I think the setup for single target will remain the same as last league, but this might change as I theorycraft more (doubt it though). " Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you're enjoying the build and I'm happy the progression has become so much smoother now w/ Power Siphon. I've actually been theorycrafting a bit with int stacking wanders. I've always loved the concept but shied away from it in the past b/c it had a lower DPS ceiling and this build had enough life pool to survive all content anyways. Now with the new Awakener fight it might be necessary to go int-stacking instead, at least until the community figures out an effective strategy. I'm still working on the int-stacking setup, and will probably have my playtester try it out first in standard to make sure it can handle awakener. All I can say right now is that it's going to be a lot more expensive than this build to reach respectable DPS numbers + ehp pool, but I agree with the other poster that it's a probably going to be a better investment if you have a ton of currency to burn. If the int stacking setup is successful, I'll post a POB on this guide sometime in the future + probably make a guide, since none currently exist. Last edited by Enahkra on Dec 16, 2019, 3:18:28 PM

I've overhauled most of the wander guide. Will add more details as the league progresses and as I fine-tune the build. Updated trade links for most gear sections, only amulets and shields left. I'll get them up later today.

I put together a pob of int stacking wander, with mostly 3 mod gear. Hopefully these influence bases are not too hard to get...
https://pastebin.com/04pPYFMB damage seems ok, and 10k es as a start is great. Let me know what you think
" The gear in my POB is very similar to yours probably b/c there's pretty much only one efficient way to gear up an int stacking wander lol. I don't think it'll be a good idea using 5x DPS flasks for Awakener. You'll want a quicksilver to quickly squeeze through the vortexes when they're getting too close. And I think Dying Sun will also be necessary mainly for the damage + fire mitigation. I'm considering Incandescent Heart as another possible option. You'll have ~8.9k ES, but an effective ehp pool of 11.8k against ele damage. There seems to be a lot of fire damage in the Awakener fight, but I'm not entirely sure exactly what the % is yet. There's also bound to be some physical damage mixed in there as well. The only concern I have is the low recovery rate. ~2k ES/second might not be able to sustain facetanking. I think blind on jewel will be necessary to raise the hit avoidance. Sadly investing in es recovery is just too costly on the tree, and ES on hit items (Discipline Watcher's eye + fenumus spinnerets) have too high an opportunity cost. I'll first get my playtester in standard to try out something like this (prob within 1-2 weeks), and see where to go from there. If Awakener is still near impossible I'll let you know. My gear:
Spoiler
Went standard Toxic Rain leveling, switched at 77ish to wands. Will switch to Loreweave once I 6L it. Also waiting on getting better rings before swapping from Thief's Torment. Played a lot of QotF wanders and the change to wands being able to use shield charge is really nice. It's so much smoother and faster than just running with flame dash. |

" Just a quick question for you, i eventually want to swap over to a wander when i can afford it, and i also started TR. What did you do gearwise once u hit maps as TR? just stick with shitty leveling gear and farm low tier maps or is there some cheap upgrade u can get with TR that'll carry it into higher maps?
Herald of Agony in a 4L Quill Rain and 6L Toxic Rain in Tabula. Thief's Torment lets you spam with Precision aura. I bought the helm/gloves/boots I'm currently using when I got to maps.

If I haven't fully converted barrage, what did I do wrong?
