[3.9] Physical Conversion Bowyer | Wander [TS/LA/IS + Barrage] [KB + Power Siphon] [All Content]
Why is it called "league starter" if you write a few lines later "I don't recommend starting out with this build".
Have i missed something?!
" Im guessing precision and hrimsorrows were after you transitioned to wander or did you use them with TR? (Assuming precision instead of malevolence then?)
" The wand build is league starter, the bow build isn't. But it's very easy to league start as wander and then switch to bow build later on b/c they share most of the important gear. This thread contains two guides so it's hard to write all that in the title. Edit: It is possible to league start as the bow build, but I haven't tested the leveling process myself so I don't have an extremely detailed guide on how to do it. For the wander guide I describe exactly what to do b/c me and many others have already tested it out. Last edited by Enahkra on Dec 17, 2019, 6:10:37 AM

" You might have an older version of the POB. The bow guide isn't fully updated yet. The only thing up to date is the info in the section called 3.9 Preliminary Guide. I discuss this topic there. Also you should double check the POB in that section b/c I recently updated it. I'll be done editing the bow guide in the next few days, but not too much has changed since last league. You basically use Hrimsorrow's + Winter Spirit to convert 90% and that's good enough b/c eventually when you get Voidfletcher, Void Shot has built-in 50% conversion and carries a good part of your DPS. You can still go the full conversion route with rare gloves, but this requires Hatred Conversion eye and you'll have a bit less endgame DPS later on. It's up to you.
" Not the same person you were directing your question to, but I think he more or less followed the league-starter section of my guide. I basically lay out exactly how to start as Toxic Rain and transition into wander (verified + tested by multiple friends + others) Last edited by Enahkra on Dec 17, 2019, 6:06:08 AM

How does it survive metamorphs and so?
I wanted to go Bow after getting some currency on my Miner. How many EX do u think i need for comfortable bossing and mapping on the current league?
My takes on Metamorph bosses are:
Keep constantly moving, the fights have terrible telagraphic but if you're mobile you should be fine, especially with those kamikaze black bugs. Stand from afar and whittle it down, with extra proj + some rippy mods, Metamorph can cast bullet hell or something like that. The "nerf" to Point Blank made it less punishing if you're not in melee range. If you're a bow build, try to annoint Hardened Scars and get a Foreboding/Enduring Hybird flask for easy Fortify uptime. You're bound to get one-shotted in high tier maps so it's best to migate some damage rather than stacking life, try out Phase Acro and/or Raider for easy evasion/dodge too. For wander just refresh Fortify on some trash mobs. Sometimes it's better to use less rewarding organs in exchange for survivability, don't eat more than you can chew. It's all about constantly moving and keeping an eye out for obivous attacks, for those not so obivous, you pray. |

My playtester did a Shaper/Phoenix run in standard for the bow build (using temp league gear ofc) if anyone's interested in seeing how it performs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6risEDBULp0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBzDJqDr2Go&feature=youtu.be Yeah it looks sorta weak, but all builds will look weak this league lol. " For metamorphs I'm not quite sure yet. It's too early in league and none of my playtesters plan on switching to bows until they can afford the full setup w/ Voidfletcher. I think the difficulty of those encounters will depend on whether or not you have Voidfletcher. If you use Voidfletcher all metamorph bosses should be doable assuming there's nothing extremely bullshit about the mechanics. Voidfletcher's damage is front-loaded and "recharges" every 2ish seconds, so as long as you fire off one barrage attack every 1-2 seconds and continue kiting the rest of the time, you'll still be able to deal millions of DPS. This is for the hardest of scenarios when you absolutely cannot afford to facetank the boss at all. Currently Voidfletcher is extremely expensive but I highly doubt it'll stay that way for too long. I'm guessing it'll still be multi-ex, but definitely not 30+ ex. With Voidfletcher, the first set of explosions + your barrage attack combine to give ~13mil damage assuming you don't miss your shot. So as long as you continue kiting, allowing your Void Shot to build up, and fire every ~2 seconds, you'll be dealing ~13mil damage each time while staying out of melee distance. As for how many ex you'd need I think that's a bit of a subjective question. I'll just give you some numbers and you can decide for yourself. Keep in mind the wander was able to do all content up to Uber Elder w/ 4.5mil peak Shaper DPS. You can check the wander vids on the guide to see what it's like. There's no Uber recording though b/c my playtester didn't want to risk bricking due to recording lag, but I confirm it's doable since I watched him do it IRL. https://pastebin.com/EN8itKCV This is the POB for a cheaper variant of the bow build without Voidfletcher. I removed Dying Sun, Voidfletcher, Watcher's Eye, and Lioneye's Fall from the setup so the gear isn't top end. You'll be able to deal ~7mil peak DPS, so everything up to Uber Elder will be doable + easier than for wander. Compared to the damage in the wander vid, it'll be ~50% better. If you manage to get Voidfletcher that's a game changer b/c it'll give you 13mil DPS for the first second, followed by consistent ~9-10mil DPS after that, so your overall DPS will vary depending on the length of the fight. These numbers are a bit lower compared to 3.8 b/c of the 10% resist buff to monsters. Shaper DPS accounts for resists so it got nerfed across the board. Also regardless how much DPS you get with this build, endgame bossing is going to feel worse than before just b/c of the 300%-400% life buff to bosses. Ah thanks, seems we need like 20 ex~ without voidfeltcher and dying sun to start, guess i gonna gather more and buy full gear then

" I think prices will go down if you wait; Loreweave is 7-8 ex now but will drop to 3-4 ex later. 2 ex on average for helm. You can run clearskill on a 5L so arborix is prob ~1 ex. The rest shouldn't be too expensive. For jewels just use the live searches found in guide and buy a few for relatively cheap. I think you can pull it off below a 15 ex budget or perhaps much lower if you can tolerate the wander's level of DPS from the videos. Last edited by Enahkra on Dec 17, 2019, 6:33:20 PM
