Build updated for 3.6.

- dropped the entire lower half of the 3.5 tree
- grabbed the new ES leech stuff
- replaced Life Leech with Energy Leech
- swapped Storm Weaver back to Snowforged
- adjusted pathing in the Templar area
- grabbed Divine Judgement, Potency of Will, Ash, Frost and Storm, ZO
- changed jewel sockets
- no longer requiring Fertile Mind

The build now does 40% MORE damage and has an innate 103% cold penetration (against everything, without Frostbite).

Fun times ahead!

thanks

after lvl 90, what the best to take on the tree, fingers of frost, arcane expanse ? +1 curse ?

Last season I played this build (as occultist) in Hardcore. I was struggling quite a bit until mapping due to my small life pool.
I think it would be good to take some nodes from the scion life wheel early, but which other nodes can I skip best during leveling process?

IMO, you should look at Ancestral Knowledge, and Trickery. That would take you to 96.
Quick couple of notes on the new tree, which I'm looking forward to playing (and thanks for all your work!):

- Take a look at Enigmatic Defense and the new split Staff offense/defense nodes, I think they're worth grabbing;
- Ethereal Feast AND Light Eater may be a bit overkill on the ES leech. Due to the leech changes, I think we'll hit the cap with both of them and possibly end up wasting points?
- Arcane Will is unmissable imo - especially for this build with the stacking of Int (and therefore mana). That's a massive chunk of ES;

I took your last PoB and updated the tree to http://poeurl.com/cigL - this came out with more damage, more block, more ES and only a touch less ES leech.

Ethereal Feast and light eater not so for ES leech, but for "increased maximum total leech", which will make our 20% leech cap (with soul reaver) into 30% leech cap. It's "must have", and not going to be point of discussion.

I'll take a stab at addressing this, unless Kelvynn wants to chime in. Ethereal Feast and Light Eater are both needed more for the "Increased Maximum total Recovery per second from Energy Shield Leech" stat then for the flat leech. That stat means that we recover more ES per second. You COULD drop Soul Thief, but that's pretty decent just as an ES node.

Arcane Will is a bit overrated. You would need to swap out "Might of the Meek" for another jewel to use it, and it "only" gives 500 ES with good gear and the current tree. For comparison, Soul Thief gives 400. Losing Might of the Meek would have a greater effect.. although if you have an UBER awesome Rare jewel, it may be worth playing with.

Same issue with Enigmatic Defense, you would have to not use Might of the Meek. The node is kinda sexy, but we could use the extra 4 nodes elsewhere to a greater effect. Still might be fun to play with. This build has so many end-game things to try, there is a reason the forum post count is well over 100 pages.

It's actually quite opposite, because "arcane will" is great due to our ammount of flat mana that we gain from int, and give 500 ES even with mediocre gear with 10k es, while soul thief will give only about 200.
The better the ES on gear, the worse arcane will, but until absolute late game with uber gear that cost 100 ex and ES shooting to 20k, it's actually better than soul thief. Atleast on ES part.
Agree with might of the meek though, but if someone isn't using one, arcane will is almost must have.

Possibly, but I think it's going to be gear dependent and a bit relative - I took Kelvynn's most recent PoB and added the new tree. With both Ethereal Feast and Light Eater, we get 2364.8 ES leech per Icestorm hit, with only Light Eater we have 1736.1 per Icestorm hit. Yeah, that's a decent difference - but 1736.1 is still pretty massive (and doesn't include WO leech I think) - will we need that much more except in extreme circumstances?

I just think it's something to keep an eye on - especially with the 4pt investment for Ethereal Feast that might be better spent elsewhere.

Edit: And derp, yes, I missed the Might of the Meek placement. I did wonder why PoB wasn't showing as much extra block as the nodes should have given...

Please, read my message again. Those 2 nodes make our max leech rate larger. It's not about "leech per hit", nobody cares about it. It's basically half of the vaal pact effect on those, and as leech tank we don't have any means to overlook it.
Got a pastebin for PoB?
