I'm dropping Blade Vortex from the build.

To get it to work properly we need a wand with elemental damage to spells, eg. fire to proc EE for lightning. But this was a little confusing to newer players. It also makes it hard to swap spectres*. So if you decide to swap from lightning to fire-based spectres, you'll need to get a new wand or recraft it, which will be costly if you multi-modded it.

*I'm changing the build to allow for easy spectre swapping now that we don't need to mess around with the old way of raising high level spectres.

Think Slave Drivers will survive the loss of 100% spectre life from Soul Weaver?

kayella, do you think spectres as primary dps will be viable? Or swap to zombies + skeletons will be better?

Maybe instead of chaos golem will be better use new one, which buffs all other minions + zombie with meat shied to stack golem and for additional defense?

Slave Drivers will still be viable. I can get us to around the same as last league if we use Vis Mortis. I changed Unholy Might to 20% ele gained as chaos (as per the patch notes) and this is what I get:



It's all the same gear as the basic PoB from 3.7. This number is with Controlled Destruction (44% more) which I'll be replacing with Deathmark (49% more against marked monster). It also has the old Raise Spectre gem with 10% more damage.

Working on it. It's quite a complete build update because of the changes. The levelling guide needs quite a rework.

I just realised the guide will need a hefty refresh after patch as well since a lot of items are getting new stats.

As a newer player (Synthesis was my first) this is one of the most well written guides I’ve come across. The leveling guide is superb! It really lays out what to do going through the acts and getting to maps. Thank you for all the work. I’m looking forward to trying this in the new league. I’m on PS4 so I’m hoping the lower number of summons will help keep it stable and not crash it too much (as the console version is prone to doing).

How do you decide between the specters? I’m looking at the goat men as their offscreen killing is awesome and would help lighten the load on my PS4. But what’s the difference between goat men and slave drivers?

There is a reddit thread showing 3 spectees at level 21 and 4 at 31, empower going to be needed
