As for why everyone is ranged, that's an easy question and you know it. Ranged is just inherently better. Why do damage UP close when you can do it from afar?

if they reverse the minimap back to before 2.0 in sarn arena, lot of offscreen campers would get erased asap. They would need to move 1 screen away to start seeing names and melee could ambush ranged with flicker or what s not like in good old time.

Rupenus/amazon would still be very strong because their build is made also for melee distance but all the other fucks playing while looking the map would get rekt.

Mine/traps are so freaking boring, not even half of those bow offscreen users would dare to try it. those guys want easy pew pew not walking+posing mines around. too much keyboard actions needed.

With high 'mine detonation radius' it's not even necessary, they could drop mines anywhere.

I think you're being optimistic, though the fact neither of us has pointed out that they'll just sit in a corner and spam on wide angle betrays our hopefulness. We really need to get to the name calling so GGG can trim/lock the thread without actually solving anything.

Side note, it's not about the playstyle, it's the gratification, mines are harder to counter as the trade off for higher maintenance. The player themselves is just looking for the easy kill. Don't let them feed you some nonsense about sweeping either, anything that requires you to stop playing the game to do chores is detrimental to pvp as a whole.

Bring back old no-name, smaller distance map thing and the feed that shows players entering and leaving, that'd a nicer QOL sort of thing. Polishing the turd, bit by bit- oh there's some corn!
