If you're doing phase #1 you get the additional curse from Windscream boots.

If you're doing phase #2 you get the additional curse from the passive tree [top left side].

This is a very well-designed build, and it's a lot of fun to play it. I found it several months ago, but never got around to playing it, even though I had already bought a 6s Pledge of Hands. While taking a break from PoE, I decided to blow all my remaining fuses on it - and 200 fuses later, I saw the Well-connected achievement pop up,. Guess you CAN get lucky in PoE after all ;-)
I started playing immediately, started curse-warping into packs around level 40, which greatly increased the fun. Leveling got a bit uncomfortable at the end of Cruel, but somewhere in Act 2 Merciless I hit level 62 and was able to equip Carcass Jack, which made it even funnier and easier. It followed Taryn's Shiver, Rime Gaze and last but certainly not least Pledge of Hands at level 68, which I reached in Merciless Docks. From then on, all has been well. I'm grinding on level 86 ATM, tried my first level 78 map a few days ago (a legacy Palace) and completely blew stuff away with my frosty explosions ;-)
My gear:

My tree looks basically like your phase 2, with one +30 STR node, in order to level the red gems. My DPS with auras is about 34,000, with 7 power and 3 frenzy charges and Atziri's Promise I'm at about 63,000. Lion's Roar helps with especially tough melee packs and certain hard-hitting bosses - they can't just get near enough to touch me. Survivabiliyt is very good since switching to Acrobatics and using CWDT.
Thanks again for that awesome build! I've never had so much fun with a char in PoE till now!

I would check for Evasion gloves & helmet since this is wat phase #2 is based about.

Get the empowers [level 3 is okay no need to rush to level 4 one, since they are not cheap].
Once you equip an empower on your 6L instead of Life Leech gem i'd like to know whats ur dps.

Also, don't forget to 20q your gear =D

I see that you don't have any chaos resist on gear. I seem to get owned by ranged mobs with what I assume is chaos damage. How do you get around that?

Hey. We have over 4k hp we don't die easily to ranged monsters even if they use chaos damage.

Regardless, its up to you what gear you use. You can buy items with chaos resistence, as long as you keep your ressistences capped.
But its really not necessary.

I occasionally get into tight situations if a lot of tentacle bitches, poison vipers or magic skeletal archers pop up unexpected or I don't notice them in time. But as long as I warp to the next pack and start leeching, I am fine.

I have an Empower that's almost level 2, but as it will probably take forever to reach level 3, I went ahead and bought a level 3. Ice Nova now costs 3 mana more than with Life Leech, teh loss in life leech is barely noticeable. DPS went up to 38,000 with auras (+4,000) and 74,000 (+10,000). I didn't think it would be THAT powerful!

What packs exactly do you have trouble with?

It's mainly the exact ones you mentioned. Especially vipers. Also, sometimes they interrupt my lightning warp before I can even get to them.

hey enigma, you should just react fast and warp on them, own them and move on.
They do hurt a lil bit but you shouldn't die to them.
