1.0.1 Patch Notes

Hey man, love the game a lot. Instead of making CODT mildly useful, lets take another approach.

Make CODT's required damage to Proc inverse of what it is now, so at level 20 you get the nice little 550 damage trigger. Or, keep it the way it is, but add a 1 minute cooldown. There are a few things you could do that are less disruptful to characters like myself that rarely play anything but solo melee.

Yes, i will adpat nonetheless, and continue to play. But, i think you shouldn't just make this gem less useful, because it provides a valuable function for a lot of players. We just need to tweak it a bit.

That's the real problem, not the actually nerf.
How much testing time took to a veteran player to understand the unbalanced power of that gem? Probably less than 4 hours?
And the next question would be who is freking testing things before thay launch? Blind kiwis???
The fact they didn't see that coming before launching that gem just leave me astonished.
The other shocking fact is that they used the gem twice in the first build of the week video; this leads to 2 scenarios:
- they were drunk as donkeys during character leveling and making of the video so the didn't notice/remember how good the gem was
- they're nerfing it for the discharge build ---> then they should think something better, because to nerf a build they're nerfing everything, even the mechanic they suggested 2 weeks ago!!!!

Great changes overall. As for CwDT change, anyone who's played this game for a while saw that one coming weeks ago and it's not the game changer IMO. It adds a level of theorycrafting to a now brainless gem setup as to what levels of the gems are optimal for your build. That's always a good thing in POE.

The above literally must be how it is nothing else explains some of the decisions they make.
The easy fix for codt was to make it so that no damage could be done by linked gems.Its a utility gem and thus can not be OP as you can just manually press buttons to get the same result.

Are you set on forcing me NOT to play and SUPPORT POE anymore?

Some food for thought:

1. Some Lateral Thinking in your approach! Perhaps unintended consequences? Well they are there, you need to adjust your approach fast!

2. Fail Fast! Nothing wrong with that! Come to the party, you currently make changes on trends that is NOT always validated by the players.

3. Do not create a "GGG Developer Island!" That's whats happening right now. You don't have to always come up with all the answers by yourself. Sometimes you don't know what you don't know. Or do you choose to make these one-sided changes?

4. Do not ignore specific issues raised by the players! Feedback is the breakfast of champions!

5. Really make every effort to learn from lessons. Do not approach issues in the same way. I get the distinct idea that the team are now set in their ways and do not want to face and deal with the hard facts raised by the community.

You have done so well up to release! I stood amazed at all your achievements!

Perhaps GGG is not ready and mature enough to really sustain POE in the long run ending up in another ARPG failure. That is very sad indeed.

I like the patch. Best patch in a lllooonnnggg time.
Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.

Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :(

Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt.
Rather than blaming the devs we should think of a better solution to suggest them.

Here are my personal suggestions to CoDT:

1) Insteads of casting after x Damage taken, it should have a cooldown, which should be high at level 1 but lower at higher levels. When there is no cooldown it will always procs on damage taken.

OR

2) If you have a level 10 CoDT and level 18 Molten Shell. It should cast a level 10 Molten Shell when procs, insteads of completely preventing it from casting at all.

OR

3) Insteads of Casting all linked skills at once, it should only cast one per procs, random or not.

Yeah, sure, its an EXCELLENT thing to not be sure if a released gem will be or not nerfed next week, because, you know, SOLID TESTING.

Its preposterous to say that the ones complaining should have seem the nerf coming because it was "obviously OP".

IF ITS SO OBVIOUS, "NERF" IT BEFORE THE RELEASE.

Get down from your high horses and stop trying to get on GGGs good side saying that the nerf was to be expected.
