Ice Shot
I shall post after i play a bit later on whether there is a fps increase. I do notice it as well and it comes from when the shot "hits" the target and explodes.

Has anyone confirmed or denied if the AoE after the shot is affected by weapon ele dmg?

" It's weapon damage, ergo it benefits.
Sadly, I must say that I still have those huge fps drops after the last patch. It is not breaking my game, but surely is annoying as hell. Plus, when combined with some sync issues and general lag, such drops in frame rate can be lethal.

Overall the fps issues seem to be a little less. I do get the really massive drops of fps still but overall it feels a little more consistent.
Tested in docks, full party with the famous player lag killing flame guys.
Have to agree. I run Lightning Arrow on my bow shadow mainly, but I'd run Ice Shot because it has so much better damage potential if only it did not have the huge FPS drop. Please fix soon. :(

With an increased area of effect support gem, which one(s) of these would apply?
a) greater radius of the cone AoE attack b) greater radius of the ground patch c) greater angle of the cone (i.e. from 45degrees to 60degrees) Last edited by Taeh on Feb 11, 2013, 7:32:41 PM

^ thats some good information to know.
I personally still see issues with the Animation from Ice shot when its combined with support gems such as Fork or LMP. Seems to just drag more then other skills when it procs the cone and supporting effects.
Does the cone of cold also count as a weapon attack? Specifically, if I have +30% weapon elemental damage from Ice Bite, does it recalculate and increase the damage? If my attack deals 100 phys and 50 cold pre-modifier, it'd be 100 + 65 with Ice Bite, and then 165 pure cold for the cone of cold -- unless it counts as a weapon attack, and thus applies Ice Bite to the newly converted physical damage.

The cone is a separate hit, and has its own calculation (but the same Crit roll). Ice Bite is applied to the full Physical damage, since it's all converted to Cold.
