South African Corner

Hi Guys,

Trying to see who here on the forums are from South Africa. I saw another post with a summary, but can't believe we are only 2.

Chris, if you happen to glance over in this direction, when the game goes live, it would be nice to have a local server :P

If anyone is interested, I am able to play this game with out issue. Ping is around 250ms and I couldn't notice any game breaking lag. Not sure about PVP and such though.

I suppose to be inline with other "corner" threads, the responses can be in afrikaans xD

TL;DR: If you are from SA, put your name up.

What's the latency like in Path of Exile while playing from South Africa?

Interested to know since playing HC will most probably be incredibly challenging with lag.

Latency is pretty good actually. As I mentioned it's around 250ms. Same as what D3 had in SA if you ever played it. Haven't played enough to know if there will be lots of sync / resulting rubberbanding issues, but from the bit I played, it was perfect.

Had a few sync deaths but these were primarily during open weekends when servers were being hammered...

Similar to thetdev my ping hovers around 250-300.

Not sure how likely a local server is when we take the micro-store into consideration. Also, the user base is still pretty light on the ground here... (not that it wouldn't rock to play at sub-100 ping).

If any of you obtained keys via timer can u let me know how long it took?

Atm getting my dose of PoE from Krippm,Ash streams looks so awesome esp that skill tree :O

Oh and if any of you are willing to trade a key for d3 stuff let me know have 25mil IGG 2 inferno cleared toons etc, over d3 for the next year seriously doubt next patch will fix anything.

R80 gets you in with 100 store points to spend on inventory/char slots..

R200 nets you a emergency rations in the form of a delicious kiwi :D...

Ye i know the 10$ aint much for this amazing game. but i do not have a cc and getting my dad to agree to pay for a game with his is unlikely even if i do offer the money beforehand. His not a fan of my gaming habit :P

Keep an eye on the forums Panick_za, especially the beta key forum, there were two guys earlier that gave out a few keys.
