Why Does Every Suggestion Turn Into Drama?

I have no idea, i've playing live service games since before they were called that and i've never seen a community like the poe community, and that's not a compliment unfortunately.

I remember in 0.1 or 0.2 when i was having some sort of problem with graphical settings (which was pretty common at the time) and the guy in the reply literally told me that i should tell nvidia or amd about it and not GGG, acting like GGG didn't released tons of patches addressing this sort of problem over the months lmao.

This sort of behavior is somewhat a common pattern here for some reason, ppl here tend to mainly engage with posts they "disagree" with, in an obnoxious way on top of that, which is weird to me bcs i usually do the complete opposite, i mainly engage with posts i think are interesting.

My theory is that to some degree, poe is a "toxic" game at its core. There are multiple little things like this in the game like every upside having a downside, if you die you lose all the loot in the ground, or how many players hate trials because of honour, afflictions + stacking downsides like in ToC.

Poe can be pretty complex and time consuming too, so it kind of attracts this kind of audience even if is unintentional.

1. Because there is uncertainty level to everything that GGG does and some contradictions. That gives community tools to argue infinitely using same thing as an argument both ways.

Ex.
If argument can be supported by "vision" declared, it can also be taken down by the fact of GGG going flexible in some cases, even changing the vision. And the exact opposite scenario is true as well.
Basically there is evidence for both GGG sticking to vision and changing it.

2. Because people support their proposals with emotions, not facts.
3. Because a direction of such complex game is insanely complicated and every alignment is coming with some aftermath, that is often omitted by feedback-givers, which then get's added in comments - with a mixture of emotions and preference of people commenting.
4. Most arguments are just preference with no understanding tho.

I have no clue how is GGG able to get any value from vast majority of posts in here. It's just mumbling usually.

PS. When a post is comprehensive and insightful feedback, it usually doesn't get comments and is lost in the jungle.

This is true for some posts but not all. There is quite a bit of emotionally charged drivel with people just trying to pump their preferred builds or playstyles with no thought or insight into the bigger picture.

Many posted suggestions however are extremely well thought out and provide pretty keen insight with supportive evidence. The emotional responses come from people replying 'don't like it go play something else'... 'you didn't play since 0.3 you don't get to talk.'

Anyway, I put the general negative tone, overly emotional responses, and general malaise on this forum 100% squarely on GGG and their stunning lack of engagement with their player base, aka their free beta testers (or I guess people that paid them $30 to beat test for them....)

The extent of their involvement is basically babysitting, with no expressed appreciation for the community's involvement. Check out the View Staff Responses button. This is basically a dead forum for people to shout at the sky, so its not surprising what we get.
It depends on the suggestion.

If the suggestion is to make the game more like d4 or a phone game or braindead easy then of course people are going to get backlash.
The devs r ppl jus like us im sure they peruse the forum every now n then seeing somthing that sparks interest skim thru the replies and skip anything uninteresting or overly dramatic.
Hell they might even get somthing out of it on occasion.

This kinda stuff happens everywhere on the internet and honestly most ppl here are pretty chill from what iv seen its a relatively small number of really unhinged folks.

Tbh I barely see the picture what poe2 is really going be outside of becoming poe1 2.0

That is a reason to not give feedback tbh.
