Just a reminder, please remove the team loot bonus in version 0.5.

GGG prob still ain't gonna do anything about it, and even if they do, party play still has a ridiculous power gap. The party lead can grab a bow with zero prefixes and still blast through literally everything with the insane buffs from teammates—and let's not forget that goddamn 500%+ rarity. I've already set up a voice channel for grouping, trying to drag every solo player I know into some makeshift matchmaking. If nothing changes, grouping up is the only way a solo player can keep playing this game.

You really love all the benefits you get from teaming up, don’t you?

You really have no arguments so you go into a personal level with accusations based on nothing?

Sryszek, you have pretty impressive ability to deflect. You should play a deflect build.

Edit:
Ah damn you! I believed you I had 30 posts a day, but it's only 1.7.
I thought you put some effort and invigilated me properly.
Disappointing.

Even with declining peak player counts and seasonal retention, GGG still refuses to fix party play. Doing something for the poor solo players and the in-game economy? Keep dreaming. They won't even patch a game-breaking temple bug until after the holidays. I used to love this game, but now I'm just watching it become brain-dead before the 1.0 launch.

can GGG actually take a stance on it. Either openly state they are cool with it or nuke the RMT'ers and bots. This saying its bad but doing basically nothing to stop it only makes it worse.

We all wish it was that easy, I don't think you'll find anyone arguing against your goal. The unfortunately reality that every online game has learned, is that it's an arms race that GGG can never truly win. Making public statements about it ultimately just raises awareness of it to players that might not have known it exists and didn't actually deter anything. It's easy to say just ban them. But if you try to walk through the logic of how to even do that, you start to realize it is a whole can of worms and mess of edge cases. Despite their best efforts, no online game has ever fully stopped bots/hacks/RMT. Not for lack of trying, usually because there's some hundreds of devs in a studio mostly focused n content, and thousands of people out there focusing on those negatively disruptive tools.

Kind of like how one player can't keep up with thousands of players in an RMT farm in the economy, devs can't keep up with the proliferation of hacks etc. Maybe some day that will change, but honestly I don't believe that's even possible unless we rewrote the entire foundation of computing.

How can I make everyone realize that this is happening on the same server as you, in a place you're unaware of? This kind of video might be difficult to spread on websites in other regions.
While you can't afford the Legendary Stone Tablet, he's constantly buying and farming for drops.
Those clowns jumping around, afraid of nerfing group drops—that's the other side of their pretentious discussions about profits. Who would worry about something that doesn't benefit them?

A trade-enabled SSF maybe the best solution.

A trade-enabled SSF mode would make the economy extremely stable, because without party play, every item entering the market would carry a real cost.
Even progressing through the campaign or completing Ascendancy trials would itself be part of that cost. There would no longer be things like party gold farming, party Ascendancy carries, or every other form of group-based boosting.

More importantly, it would make Path of Exile 2’s core strength — build diversity — truly meaningful again.
It would become much easier for a wide variety of builds to thrive.

In such an environment, a build only needs to be useful in a specific type of content or at a certain stage of progression to have value.
That is very different from the current party-based leagues, where only the strongest endgame farming builds really matter, because nearly everything else can simply be carried by groups.

Trade is absolutely essential here.
PoE2 already has an enormous item pool, and without trading, an average player would have an extremely difficult time assembling the gear required for their build, let alone experimenting with different builds.

Without trade, any item that does not fit your current build quickly becomes meaningless.
With trade enabled, however, almost all of these problems are solved. And since trading is available, friends from the regular leagues could also join this server and play together economically, even without party gameplay.

Solo Self-Trade is a solid option.

Like playing in a party? Go with the regular league server. Don't want the extra party loot influence? Then Solo Self-Trade is for you.

I understand what you mean. I guess I was just hoping with the way trade works now it should be 100% obvious when items are bought out in less than 5 seconds of posting. Should trigger a flag to check the account and if it has done it several times (not human lucky) then instant ban. They have the tools to see each item trade. Any trade greater than 10 Div in a normal league (last league 100) should be spot checked. They would catch so many RMT'ers and bots this way. Thats without even scripting AI to assist with it which would process all that information extremely quickly and be able to catalog a list of manual reviews ready for ban. I just know there is more they could be doing but I think they are not because of the special chinese version of the game and knowing its massive over there to sell leveling services, currency, and bots.
Why would a different mode to split the player base even further be needed?

Just remove the loot bonus for party and remove the uniques for rarity botting.

Done. It is that simple.

If party play was purely for playing with friends then that is unaffected. If it was strictly for boosting... well we have our real answer why there are so many defenders of it.
Since everyone has huge differences, let's just launch a solo trading server. Everyone plays their own way. After all, it's still the EA phase! Let's see the final outcome and decide for the official server later.
