What POE could learn from No Rest for the Wicked
" Please, just stop humiliating yourself https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_role-playing_game Learn the words you're using, do yourself that favor. You have the whole knowledge of the human race at your fingertips and even "AI", and yet you refuse to educate yourself and insist on wrong "facts". " If you think that when PoE players say ARPG they refer to a class of games that includes Pokemon, then you are completely delusional. That whole wiki page is game journalist talk, nobody cares for it but you. Last edited by AssaultUnit#6080 on Mar 23, 2026, 4:46:19 PM

" So now all of a sudden our definition of ARPG shifts? Because you don't like what's included. Talking about delusional. kek. |

" Not shifted at all. Always has been the definition the overwhelming majority of PoE players attributed to the term "ARPG". [Removed by Support] Last edited by Cameron_GGG#0000 on Mar 23, 2026, 6:01:28 PM

You must have better things to do than this, man. I know it is late into the league but come on. Let people give their feedback. It doesn't change your feelings towards the game or GGG or whatever. It is the whole point of this forum. Last edited by Cameron_GGG#0000 on Mar 23, 2026, 6:17:24 PM

" The vast majority of the poe2 playerbase is not on this forum. So you have no idea what they think, still. And the definition of ARPG is still what I told you. [Removed by Support] Last edited by Cameron_GGG#0000 on Mar 23, 2026, 6:03:43 PM

" Yeah, my bad. I thought it was an auto-delete thing but turns out support is just deleting random posts without notice. To support: aren't we allowed at least a faint hint of aggressiveness? Nothing truly offensive has been said. We're just passionate for the game and get into mildly heated arguments. Your editing seems way excessive. Guess that's one way to kill a thread mentioning a competitor game.

Okay first.
An ARPG is simply a CRPG without turns. That is it. They were designed to skip character sheets, pre-build and party compositions before you even start playing. Ironic for PoE. They retain the RPG elements of CRPGs. Dialog, character development, plot, side quests, exploration, etc but other slower mechanics like crafting were removed. again, irony PoE. Wiki, newer gamers or whatever can mess with the meaning all they want. I was there, playing Diablo 1 beta in '96. Hell, I can show you a picture of the demo CD if you want. Point being nothing was like it up to that time. It was revolutionary. It was called an ARPG because it came from CRPGs. Are we going to argue over what a CRPG is now? Do I have to explain what a table top RPG is? ______________________________________________________________________ Anyways. PoE2 could learn a lot from ARPGs coming out. Both Titan's Quest 2 and Dragonkin have superior WASD controls (you're character doesn't run backwards like a goon). They have this crazy concept that you can't just spam dodge constantly too. Dragonkin isn't filled out yet at all but it has a very smart introduction like Castlevania Symphony of Night. While explaining the story it lets you play the heroes of the past which are the pimped out versions of classes. This lets you naturally decide which play style you might like more. Like a proper ARPG, you're already playing not reading a wiki on what skills each class gets. Titan's Quest 2 has a better character creator than an ARPG prolly should but it screams quality. There's roughly 8 early access or upcoming ARPGs that might just catch PoE off guard. Good. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac
