What POE could learn from No Rest for the Wicked

"
"

Maybe you should read up on what ARPG stands for and how it came to be.

ARPG in this day and age means a successor to Diablo 2 to 99% of people that have ever played PoE. You can tell us that action and role-playing elements together make an ARPG, but that is not what most people here mean by the term.

Are the souls games ARPGs? Is Mass Effect an ARPG? Is Cyberpunk and ARPG? According to you and according to game journalists they sure are, but according to the grand majority of PoE players myself included (i.e. people that aren't stuck on semantics) they're not.

The "grand majority" of poe2 isn't on this forum. So you have no idea what the "grand majority" thinks.

Definition is definition. Whether you like it, or not.

Yeah, but most people wouldn't define Dark Souls or Elden Ring as a classic ARPG, even if they could, since Diablo created that genre. They are a genre for itself. And No Rest for the Wicked fits more in that genre. It's a TopDown Soulslike for me.

You could also say: PoE2 can learn a lot from Hades... even when it isn't nearly the same genre at all.

Edit: But in the end it is all semantics. I bet you can read between the lines and know, what he means, instead of insisiting in your opinion

You understand that the actual feedback is drowned by the tears of crybabies, right?

Imagine a world where it was someone's job to sift through all that and occasionally respond something to the effect of:

"Thank you for your participation in early access and your feedback as we try to make our game the best it can possibly be. We have heard similar complaints/suggestions and are working to see if and how we can improve this aspect of game play. Please note we receive many suggestions and cannot promise to make any specific changes before weighing the balance against their overall potential impact on the game. Thank you so much."

Otherwise, they should just probably remove the tease of that 'staff replies' filter. It's misleading and a bad look.

So you can complain about them responding but still doing nothing? Your complaining would just shift.

Something tells me you may not be the right person for this position.
D2 and Dungeon Siege 2 were the best games of the late 90s. But NRTTW has an awesome combat style where you have to dodge small mob damage to survive, something you can't easily find in fast-paced RPGs.

Terms can have multiple definitions, lil bro. We simply disagreed on the definition of ARPG - you support a literal interpretation whilst I support a more popular one.

To exercise your thought, what do you wager people usually mean when they say "kick the bucket"?
a) use one's foot to hit a bucket
b) pass away

D2 didn't define ARPG, it was Zelda. Get your facts straight.

And you're even using semantics wrong. Sigh...what you mean is syntax.

Please, use the interwebz and learn the meaning of the words you're using.

What position are you talking about? Being a forum member?

"Disagree on the definiton". Yeah, that's how definitions work. You make them what you want them to be. Jesus christ almighty...
I think that No Rest for the Wicked goes too far the other way, i don't know if i like that

To me the "mercenary gameplay walkthrough" video ggg made is THE vision of poe 2, and what i wanted the game to be too

You speak very confidently for someone that is absolutely clueless on all fronts.

You are the only person I ever heard make the claim that Zelda is the ARPG progenitor and not Diablo. Clearly you are alone in this, and that matters when we're discussing subjective things.

Semantics is the correct term to use, it has to do with meaning, not syntax.

For your own sake I hope you're just baiting at this point. What part of "multiple definitions" don't you understand?
