" Do you mean Softcore campaign? You can get thru SC campaign with anything. That's not a relevant measure. Do you mean t15 map6+ mods, without dying every 5 minutes? Do you mean getting to level 80+ on HC? Either way while you "can" use crit, it not good compared to ignoring crit. |

" This guy is asking for a nerf on a mechanic that is weak instead of the actual items that are strong. It too broad and would lead to more nerfs and a worst game. |

" I am running a zero global defense (no armor/no evasion) twister crit hit build that steamrolls t16 6+ mod maps and pinnacle bosses plus uber arb. Average death rate is about once every 10 hours of game play Have done the same with Hollow Palm and Storm wave crit build this season. You can easily find videos of everyone doing the same with pretty much any skill. There's even a funny CoC twister Oracle build I saw a video of that wipes the end game. I have not tried Hardcore, my comp is too slow and half my deaths are lag related. I don't think hardcore was the focus of this discussion in any way though was it? Naturally people will dump dps to go for boosted defenses in HC. Doesn't seem relevant in this discussion though. |

" Not relevant?!?! How is a major mode of the game, that would of course be affected by nerfs to crit, not relevant? Basically you have a build that can only exist in the SC trade environment, and you want to nerf crit because it's busted in the least balanced mode of the game?!? I can't support this. " I looked up your account and while I haven't played that build yet, It looks to me like your build doesn't exist without Garukhan's Resolve. Which is my point: without specific hard to get uniques and items crit sucks. If you want to nerf anything, nerf those specific uniques and items. " Nice, appreciate you going to the effort of verifying my build... You havent played it because its a homebrew...it was fine without Garukhan's. It just got better with it. Oversimplifying the math but as you approach 50% crit rate, Garukhan's is basically doubling your effective crit rate/dps. At any rate I don't remember saying to nerf anything crit related before. I think it's everything else that needs a relative boost to make them competitive and to give this game some sorely needed build diversity. This wouldn't just make the game more interesting, it would make items more affordable because not everyone would be going for the exact same items. More than anything what I want to see is ailments like bleed and poison untethered from hit damage, because this is the fundamental flaw responsible for "all roads leading to crit". I will admit though, that I think cast on crit needs a rebalance. It's basically giving 500-1000% cast speed when you think about it. The rest of the crit passive nodes, crit related ascendencies, and crit related items are more or less fine as is in game. Rathpith might still need a little bit of a downscaling too. |
