Please Avoid Overly Complicated League Mechanics Going Forward
|
We play POE2 to have fun and I don't expect to have to sit through multiple tutorials to the point I feel like I'm actively back in school studying to understand and maximise a league mechanic. Please save that stuff for POE1 and understand that POE2 attracts a more casual fan that's going to be completely put off by something like Temple. Abyss League was perfect and by far more enjoyable than being asked to run Sim City Temple mini game that's beyond dull.

Some of us have brains that actually enjoy being exercised a bit.
The great thing about having things like temple in the game is that if you don't like it, you can ignore it. |

I dont mind adding the puzzle with brain as long as its fair and not broken that would destory an entire league.

I like the fact that they are being ambitious and taking risks in EA.

So much loot!!! This is Jonathan's vision and I like it and hope it stays this way. Never been so rich and with HH I am steamrolling things.

" Stop lying. No one figured out how the temple mechanics worked in 2 days without any exploits. Someone at GGG leaked it, then the person they leaked it to ran to youtube with it, and everyone else has been copying that first person ever since. | |

I enjoy the temple mechanic a lot.
They just need to either nerf the loot or give less crystal so you cant run it too often. Feel like they were a bit in a hurry to buff loot and crystals for people complaining before hollidays and went a little too far. Other than that it's a nice mechanic more in depth and a nice change to the game. SSF player

" You must be new here. This is pretty normal. League mechanic is in every map, which means you can do it very often. It's the league mechanic, so it will (almost always) be more rewarding than normal mapping. That's the whole point of a league mechanic, new thing, rewarding, frequent. After the league ends and if it goes core (which right now everything will, as these "leagues" are just the pre-planned base content) it will be just like abyss, ritual, etc. Less frequent, something you can spec into, less rewarding but offering a different style for those that enjoy it. |

All of the huge drops and xp gain people are getting from their "snake" builds in the temple this league sit on a lynchpin mechanic involving medallions that prevent room destabilization after they strategically link their rooms together.
You can then just take some t1 maps in the endgame, put on some movespeed boots, and go find the vaal platform, leave, and repeat for another map to fill your crystals, and then go play temple - which when you get that snake going with all of those buffs, is much more rewarding than mapping anyways, and the temple level will match your character level despite being created using t1 maps. It's not a huge deal because it's currently the league mechanic, and people can focus on it for now, but in the future they definitely won't want people to focus on it over the core game, or any other content that can't be rigged to be as 'juicy'. So it will be nerfed - but how? Well I think they could just pull out the lynchpin. That means they could remove the medallions that prevent room destabilization - that would probably be enough. In GGG fashion, I know they will also change some other things to really put a nail in the coffin, so I could see something like "Rooms have a chance to change into another tile", including just a hallway tile. Nothin like your t3 spymaster suddenly turning into a 4-way hallway tile that connects any "snaking" attempts lol. |

I want more "complicated" mechanics and also new mechanics that aren't just ported over POE1 Leagues.
