More Passive Points and award them at high 90s

Bump
+2 passive points per above level 95! | |
" I really don't understand your position - first you say that levels above 95 matters because they can increase your power by 10-15% which is huge and then in two posts you call those skill points "breadcrumbs" like they aren't important at all. So what is your statement? Provide skill points above lvl 95 good amount of power or they are just "breadcrumbs" and thus should be increased? |

Wait, what? When I called them "breadcrumbs", I was talking about the reward relative to the grind - not the value of the points themselves.
A passive point is a passive point. It has basically the same value at 1->2, 50->51, 66->67, 99->100. The difference is the price tag. And the price tag after 90, especially after 95, is completely unhinged because XP gets kneecapped by the reduction and then the death penalty shows up like "nice progress, shame if something happened to it". That's the whole "marathon for a breadcrumb" comparison. It's not that the breadcrumb is worthless. It's that you're being asked to do cardio for weeks, and the game hands you the same-sized reward it gave you when leveling was actually moving. Also, once you're geared and "build-ready" around 90, your power progression doesn't keep pace with how hard the XP curve ramps. From 90 to 95 you might squeeze out what, 5-10% more damage total (and some defense), which is real... but XP gain is reduced by A LOT. And by 99->100 it's just absurd. You can't "advance your build" fast enough to compensate because the limiter isn't skill or planning anymore, it's time served and not dying. And no, "just run juiced T16s" isn't some magic solution. You still need a mountain of them, they cost a lot to set up, and you're still one dumb death away from losing a chunk of progress. There's no clever shortcut here. It's pure repetition. So pick a lane. If 95-100 is prestige-only, then stop stapling real progression to it and cap passive points around 90-ish. If it's meant to be meaningful progression, then the rewards should scale with the curve and the risk - because right now the curve scales and the reward doesn't. |

-1 passive point per level after 95! Give them streamers a challenge.

I did lol.

Generally in POE2 123 passive points isn't a good number. Rounding to 130 should bring balance. Also is good for new content coming...
Will bring people back to game and a motivation to start playing new League. |

" Well, that's actually how excercises works - at the start you have faster gains but the more you excercise the lesser are gains as you slowly reach limits of your body until you get to the point where you get almost nothing and just maintain what you already got. l already pointed out flaws of your proposal so I will not repeat myself. Also we both know that GGG will never include changes like these so let's end out little exchange here. But it was fun I must admit. Taka care and have a nice day ✌️ |

+1 Make it 130 max passives.

" The poe ninja builds list is very deceiving. Most of the builds are players that are already level 97+ so they are just slapping on items to test out stuff to see how it works. For example, i tried spec'ing into a negative lightning res build using doriyani's experimental chest that I saw a level 99 player was using, and it was indeed an unplayable experiment lol. The next day the players gear was completely different. I'd like to see the true stats on players that clearly haven't followed a guide reaching high into the 90s. Players that get a high level with a build guide, and then switch don't count. Last point. Streamers and content creators all copy each other when making builds. Most of the time. The number of true builder's like Moxy is very small. Yep you got me. lol Last edited by Dnoble23#4456 on Feb 7, 2026, 10:43:58 PM

That exercise comparison doesn't really work either.
Sure, "gain vs cost" isn't linear, it gets worse over time. But in real training, the value of each extra bit of progress also changes because you're approaching biological limits. Passive points don't behave like that. The cost explodes after 90/95, but the value of a point stays basically linear. If anything, the only time the value noticeably spikes is early on, when you first reach the outer ring (around level 20-30) and your routing opens up and the nodes get better. After that, a point is still a point. Same-sized reward, wildly different price tag. Also yes, you listed flaws in my proposal, and I've listed flaws in yours. That's fine, it's a feedback forum, not a courtroom where one person gets to slam a gavel and declare the discussion over. And the "GGG will never do this" line is just a conversation-killer dressed up as certainty. How would you know? Unless you have a direct pipeline into their design meetings, it's basically "I don't like the idea, so I'm going to pretend the devs already rejected it." If you want to bow out, bow out. But you don't get to unilaterally end the argument like you're closing a tab. " |
